Kopi Luwak, renowned for its distinctive flavor profile, has long been esteemed in specialty coffee circles; however, the conventional animal digestive process is fraught with significant ethical and sustainability controversies. Building upon these findings, the present study established a tightly controlled in vitro biomimetic fermentation system, complemented by ultrasound-assisted extraction and multi-omics analyses, to faithfully reconstruct and elevate the hallmark flavour of civet coffee. Leveraging metagenomic data from the civet gut, thirty core functional strains were selected from 1870 isolates to create a synthetic symbiotic consortium.

Ultimate-vertical-gate-all-around (UVGAA) MOSFET represent an advanced evolution of VGAA architectures, featuring source-drain symmetry enabled by simultaneous formation of both terminals. Derived from the fabrication methods of three dimensional (3D) NAND flash memory, UVGAA MOSFET offer potential for vertically stacked logic circuits. However, their implementation demands ultra-thin sacrificial SiNlayers and higher lateral-high-aspect-ratio (LHAR) trench structures compared to 3D NAND flash memory.

: Zinc finger proteins (ZNFs), functioning as pervasive transcriptional modulators, serve as pivotal mediators of tumorigenesis and malignant advancement. However, the mechanistic contributions of these epigenetic orchestrators to lung adenocarcinoma pathogenesis remain incompletely characterized. : To elucidate zinc finger proteins' biological significance in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) pathogenesis, we first extracted relevant transcriptional data from TCGA.

Hydrogen silsesquioxane (HSQ) offers high-resolution patterning capabilities in electron beam lithography. However, electron scattering within the resist remains challenging to detect, complicating the process control. Since previous research primarily focused on minimizing forward scattering by employing thin resist layers, this work specifically investigates scattering behavior using a thick HSQ resist (∼1 μm).

Besnoitia are a genus of cyst-forming protozoa, with cats serving as the definitive host for several species of Besnoitia. In order to gain insight into the epidemiology of Besnoitia infection in cats in catteries in Shenyang City, 58 fecal samples were collected from six catteries, and oocysts conforming morphologically to Besnoitia as well as Besnoitia ribosomal internal transcribed spacer 1 (ITS1) sequences were detected, confirming the presence of this parasite in a single cattery located in Shenyang, China. The ITS1 sequences were 100% identical to Besnoitia acinonyx.

Faraday cages are extensively utilized in plasma-based etching and deposition processes to regulate ion behavior due to their shielding effect on electromagnetic fields. Herein, vertical silicon nanopillar arrays are fabricated through SF and O reactive ion etching. By incorporation of a Faraday cage in the plasma equipment, the impact of the Faraday cage on the morphology of the silicon nanopillars is analyzed; the Faraday cage blocks out the sputtered particles and eradicates the formation of silicon nanograss.

Improving the number of amino acids and unsaturated fatty acids in the diet is a good way to raise the quality of the meat. Currently, most research on the quality of broiler meat focuses on genetic traits; nevertheless, it is unclear how meat quality is regulated. This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of different supplemental levels of walnut meal (WM) on growth performance, amino acid and fatty acid composition, microbial composition, and meat quality of white feather broilers.

The vertical gate-all-around (VGAA) metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) holds remarkable potential in the three-dimensional (3D) integrated circuits (ICs), primarily owing to its capacity for vertical integration. The Si nanopillar, a crucial channel in the VGAA MOSFET, is conventionally shaped via the reactive ion etching (RIE) system employing SF/O. Past studies have indicated that high Ogas conditions in RIE often result in Si grasses irregular nanostructures, such as nanospikes on the bottom surface, due to over-passivation.

White-feather broiler chickens are the dominant species in global poultry meat production. Yet there is growing concern about their health, quality, and growth efficiency. While feed additives, often antibiotics or synthetic chemicals, are used to maintain the health of the animals, drug resistance limits their use.

Studies have shown that the Mitochondrial Transcription Termination Factor 3 (MTERF3) negatively regulates mitochondrial gene expression and energy metabolism, and plays a significant role in many cancer types. Nevertheless, the expression and prognostic role of MTERF3 in patients with thyroid carcinoma (THCA) is still unclear. Thus, we investigated the expression, clinicopathological significance, and prognostic value of MTERF3 in THCA.

Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) is selective against many cancers with little side effect, yet its molecular mechanism remains unclear. Through whole transcriptome sequencing followed by assays , and using clinical samples, we propose CAP as a promising onco-therapy targeting cancer stemness via the AQP3/FOXO1 axis. CAP-generated reactive species penetrated cells via AQP3 and suppressed RPS6KA3, a shared kinase of AQP3 and FOXO1.

Androgen receptor-independent prostate cancers do not respond to androgen blockage therapies and suffer from high recurrence rate. We aim to contribute to the establishment of novel therapeutic approaches against such malignancies. We examined whether and how cold atmospheric plasma delivers selectivity against AR-independent prostate cancers via cell viability, transwell assay, wound healing, cell apoptosis assay, flow cytometry, intracellular hydrogen peroxide determination assay, RONS scavenger assay and western blot using human normal epithelial prostatic cells PNT1A and AR-negative DU145 prostate cancer cells.

Background: SNRPD1 is a spliceosome-associated protein and has previously been implicated with important roles in cancer development.

Methods: Through analyzing the differential expression patterns and clinical association of splicing associated genes among tumor and tumor adjacent samples across different tumors and among different breast cancer subtypes, we identify the tumor promotive role of SNRPD1 using multiple publicly available datasets. Through pathway, gene ontology enrichment analysis and network construction, we linked the onco-therapeutic role of SNRPD1 with cell cycle.

We investigated the protective effect and mechanism of selenium-enriched yeast (SY) on caecal injury induced by ochratoxin A (OTA) in broilers. Eighty broiler chickens of 1-day-old with similar weight were randomly assigned to Control group, OTA group, SY group and OTA + SY group, and were intragastricaly administered with OTA and SY for 21 consecutive days. The results showed that SY could reduce the caecal pathological injuries and could inhibit oxidative stress caused by OTA exposure.
