Red chicory (Cichorium intybus L.) is a leafy vegetable rich in bioactive compounds; however, the metabolic mechanisms underlying its nutritional quality during heading remain poorly understood. A comparison of basic nutritional components across ten inbred lines identified LC018 as exhibiting superior nutrient accumulation.

Temporal transcriptome profiling was conducted across three developmental stages: pre-bolting (PBS), bolting (BS), and flowering stages (FS), to investigate the underlying molecular mechanisms.

It is a significant feature impacting the early maturity and economic yield of cucumbers. The early flowering trait of cucumber is influenced by several factors.

Anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins are two major flavonoid subcategories with broad physiological functions and therapeutic significance. However, pigment deposition is a complex process, and the molecular mechanism involved remains unknown.

Accurate preoperative differentiation between HCC and ICC is critical for optimizing treatment and improving patient outcomes. However, traditional diagnostic methods, including imaging and tumor markers, have limitations in sensitivity and specificity, necessitating the exploration of novel diagnostic approaches.

Experimental Approach: Rats with Dox-induced myocardial injury were treated with a TLR2 inhibitor or CTGF silencing lentiviral vector. H9c2 cells were treated with genetic vectors or MAPK pathway activators.

Orphan genes () are genes that have no significant sequence similarity with known genes from other species or lineages. Identifying and characterizing have become more feasible with the increasing availability of plant transcriptomes and genome sequences. play important roles in response to both biotic and abiotic stresses, contributing to biological functions and lineage-specific traits.

Epidemiological research has demonstrated that people suffering from ankylosing spondylitis (AS) have a greater chance of developing cardiovascular disease (CVD), though the potential link between AS genetics and CVD risk is uncertain. This research examined the potential link between CVD outcomes and AS which is genetically determined. A two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis was conducted using data from European population genome-wide association study of AS and CVD.

Road curb extraction is a critical component of road environment perception, being essential for calculating road geometry parameters and ensuring the safe navigation of autonomous vehicles. The existing research primarily focuses on extracting curbs from ordered point clouds, which are constrained by their structure of point cloud organization, making it difficult to apply them to unordered point cloud data and making them susceptible to interference from obstacles. To overcome these limitations, a multi-feature-filtering-based method for curb extraction from unordered point clouds is proposed.

By summarizing the results of the SURMOUNT and SURPASS clinical trials, we evaluate the efficacy and safety of tirzepatide in reducing blood glucose and weight. These trials indicate that tirzepatide significantly lowers HbA1c levels (with a maximum reduction of 2.

This article reviews four new technologies for assessment of coronary hemodynamics based on medical imaging and artificial intelligence, including quantitative flow ratio (QFR), optical flow ratio (OFR), computational fractional flow reserve (CT-FFR) and artificial intelligence (AI)-based instantaneous wave-free ratio (iFR). These technologies use medical imaging such as coronary angiography, computed tomography angiography (CTA), and optical coherence tomography (OCT), to reconstruct three-dimensional vascular models through artificial intelligence algorithms, simulate and calculate hemodynamic parameters in the coronary arteries, and achieve non-invasive and rapid assessment of the functional significance of coronary stenosis. This article details the working principles, advantages such as non-invasiveness, efficiency, accuracy, limitations such as image dependency, and assumption restrictions, of each technology.

However, these PFA trials have almost universally included only Caucasian populations, with little data on its effect on other races/ethnicities. The PLEASE-AF trial sought to study the 12-month efficacy and the safety of a multi-electrode hexaspline PFA catheter in treating a predominantly Asian/Chinese population of patients with drug-refractory paroxysmal AF.

However, the role of the RDW-MCV product in assessing carotid alteration, renal damage, and left ventricular hypertrophy in patients with hypertension has not been elucidated. In this cross-sectional study, a total of 1115 participants with hypertension were included.

However, their impacts on radiation-induced myocardial fibrosis (RIMF) remain to be elucidated. To deepen this understanding, the current study sought to explore the effects of SIRT2 and galectin-3 on RIMF and the underlying mechanisms.

Therefore, the present study aimed to propose and evaluate the feasibility, safety of a novel technique termed Active Pulling retrograde microcatheter crossing Technique (APT) during retrograde CTO percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Methods: We retrospectively collected retrograde CTO-PCI cases from February 2017 to April 2023, only cases with the retrograde wire successfully crossed the CTO lesion were analyzed.
Background: Severe degenerative mitral regurgitation (DMR) can cause a poor prognosis if left untreated. For patients considered at prohibitive surgical risk, transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) has become an accepted alternative therapy. The DragonFly transcatheter valve repair system is an innovative evolution of the mitral TEER device family to treat DMR.

Blood samples were collected for analysis of plasma miR-29b-3p from patients with acute coronary syndrome before surgery, 1 day after PCI, and 30 days after PCI. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated human coronary artery endothelial cells (HCAECs) were transfected with miR-29b-3p mimic/inhibitor or YY1 shRNA and underwent viability tests.

Therapy for patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) has been a controversial topic since the introduction of thrombolytic agents in the 1980s. The use of morphine, fentanyl and lidocaine has increased substantially during this period. However, there is still limited evidence on their advantages and limitations.
