To improve monitoring capabilities, China CDC organized individual monitoring intercomparisons, which provincial health institutions participated in from 2022 to 2024. The irradiation schemes and evaluation criteria were designed in accordance with GBZ 207-2016, "Testing criteria of personnel dosimetry performance for external exposure." The Type II (photon) test specified in the standard was selected as the intercomparison type, with Hp(10) as the target quantity.

The pharmaceutical industry faces challenges in quality digitization for complex multi-stage processes, especially in small-sample systems. Here, an intelligent quality prediction and diagnostic (IQPD) framework was developed and applied to Tong Ren Tang's Niuhuang Qingxin Pills, utilizing four years of data collected from four production units, covering the entire process from raw materials to finished products. In this framework, a novel path-enhanced double ensemble quality prediction model (PeDGAT) is proposed, which combines a graph attention network and path information to encode inter-unit long-range and sequential dependencies.

This study investigates the effects of chitosan quaternary ammonium salt (HACC), carrageenan (CA), and lecithin (LC) on soy protein isolate (SPI). SPI is a widely used natural emulsifier but is highly susceptible to environmental perturbations; the incorporation of additional bioactive components can modulate its structural integrity and functional stability. For the first time, the physicochemical properties, microstructure, and in vitro digestibility of previously reported SPI complexes were compared.

Process analytical technology(PAT) is a key means for digital transformation and upgrading of the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) manufacturing process, serving as an important guarantee for consistent and controllable TCM product quality. Near-infrared(NIR) spectroscopy has become the core technology for measuring the TCM manufacturing process. By incorporating NIR spectroscopy into PAT and starting from the construction of a smart platform for the TCM manufacturing process, this paper systematically described the development history and innovative application of the combination of NIR spectroscopy with chemometrics in measuring the TCM manufacturing process by the research team over the past two decades.

Nanozyme-mediated reactive oxygen species (ROS) homeostasis regulation in vivo is a promising strategy for accelerating the healing of pathogen-infected wounds. It is detrimental in nanozyme preparation to strike a balance between ROS production and scavenging, being adaptive to the wound microenvironment, especially to overcome the irreversible and inevitable inactivation caused by the enzymatic active center loss. Herein, with adjusting ligands and metal charge transfer, we prepared a nanozyme with a regenerated Fe(II) active center, which endowed cyclic and continuous oxidoreductase reactions of peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, catalase, and oxidase under the same neutral pH environment.

A gliding arc plasmatron (GAP) was proposed for efficient degradation of mixed microplastics (MPs) under simplified and adaptable conditions. Complete degradation of MPs can be achieved within 2-4 minutes, with non-hazardous CO as nearly the only gas product. The catalyst-free GAP system, with its simplicity and compatibility with distributed renewable energy supply, offers a sustainable solution for MP treatment.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Vascular dementia (VaD) represents a frequently seen cognitive dysfunction syndrome and has ranks second among dementia subtypes following Alzheimer's disease. At present, Ditan Decoction (DTD), the traditional Chinese herbal prescription, is clinically applied in treating VaD. However, the material basis of its efficacy and therapeutic mechanism still remain unknown.

Background: Healthcare is a major contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions. Colorectal cancer (CRC) screening is one of the most widely used healthcare services in the US, indicated for approximately 134 million adults. Recommended screening options include fecal immunochemical tests (FITs) every year, CT colonographies (CTCs) every 5 years, or colonoscopies every 10 years.

Garlic and chili are widely used as food flavoring agents in food cooking, therefore might be accumulated in large amounts in food waste (FW). The effects of garlic and chili on the dissolution, hydrolysis, acidification and methanation in an anaerobic co-digestion system were investigated during the combined co-digestion of FW and excess sludge (ES). Additionally, the transformation of phosphorus form and microbial metabolism changes during the process were analyzed.

How to evaluate the accuracy of quantitative trait prediction is crucial to choose the best model among several possible choices in plant breeding. Pearson's correlation coefficient (PCC), serving as a metric for quantifying the strength of the linear association between two variables, is widely used to evaluate the accuracy of the quantitative trait prediction models, and generally performs well in most circumstances. However, PCC may not always offer a comprehensive view of predictive accuracy, especially in cases involving nonlinear relationships or complex dependencies in machine learning-based methods.

Article Synopsis
  • * Existing methods struggle with data correlations and performance issues when dealing with missing or imbalanced data in maize planting records.
  • * To address these issues, the authors introduce a new model using bipartite graph neural networks, which improves data imputation and yield prediction by better mining correlations and balancing unbalanced samples.

Engrams, which are cellular substrates of memory traces, have been identified in various brain areas, including the amygdala. While most identified engrams are composed of excitatory, glutamatergic neurons, GABAergic inhibitory engrams have been relatively overlooked. Here, we report the identification of an inhibitory engram in the central lateral amygdala (CeL), a key area for auditory fear conditioning.

Article Synopsis
  • The proposed plasma chemical looping CO splitting (PCLCS) method efficiently converts carbon monoxide (CO) into oxygen-free CO at lower temperatures, achieving 84% conversion and a yield of 1.3 mmol/g.
  • By utilizing plasma technology, the required temperature for this CO conversion drops significantly from conventional methods' range of 650 to 1000 °C down to only 320 °C, highlighting a beneficial interaction with the CeZrO oxygen carrier.
  • Further investigation through experiments and DFT calculations shows plasma plays a crucial role in activating CO and lowering the energy needed for its decomposition, facilitating a new, energy-efficient means of CO production.

The quality control of Chinese medicinal decoction pieces is one of the key tasks in the traditional Chinese medicine industry. In this study, multi-source information fusion was employed to fuse the data from near-infrared spectroscopy, electronic tongues, and other tests and establish an overall quality consistency evaluation method for Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, which provided methodological support for the overall quality evaluation of Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma. The near-infrared spectroscopy information was measured in both static and dynamic states for 23 batches of Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma samples from different sources, and the electronic tongue sensory information, moisture content, and leachate content were measured.

Yield prediction is the primary goal of genomic selection (GS)-assisted crop breeding. Because yield is a complex quantitative trait, making predictions from genotypic data is challenging. Transfer learning can produce an effective model for a target task by leveraging knowledge from a different, but related, source domain and is considered a great potential method for improving yield prediction by integrating multi-trait data.

Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) have garnered significant attention due to their association with chronic diseases and the aging process. The prevalence of geriatric diseases among young individuals has witnessed a notable surge in recent years, potentially attributed to the accelerated pace of modern life. The accumulation of AGEs is primarily attributed to their inherent difficulty in metabolism, which makes them promising biomarkers for chronic disease detection.

Subtype 5 metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGlu) are known to play an important role in regulating cognitive, social and valence systems. However, it remains largely unknown at which circuits and neuronal types mGlu act to influence these behavioral domains. Altered tissue- or cell-specific expression or function of mGlu has been proposed to contribute to the exacerbation of neuropsychiatric disorders.
