Neoadjuvant checkpoint blockade immunotherapy (NATI) significantly prolonged outcomes for triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Residual tumor cells that survive NATI represent high-risk cell populations with metastatic potential and usually evade immunosurveillance by NK cells. Using an 82-protein panel, we here profiled single-cell membrane proteomics of CD56+ (NCAM1+) NK cells from tumor, peri-cancerous tissue, as well as peripheral blood from 28 TNBC patients post-NATI of residual cancer burden II/III.

Methods: Participants scheduled with or without ICI were prospectively recruited from three academic hospitals and followed up for 1 year in four sessions. Subjective and objective CRCD were measured by Perceived Cognitive Impairment (PCI) and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), respectively.
Background: Patients with an indication for a cardiovascular implantable electronic device (CIED) are complicated with special cardiomyopathy or other unspecified cardiac abnormalities and may need endomyocardial biopsy (EMB). However, EMB by a bioptome is usually avoided to reduce the risk of lead displacement in the CIED periprocedural period.
Objective: We aimed to assess the safety and feasibility of a novel approach for transvenous right ventricular (RV) EMB using the lead sheath method (L-S-M) during CIED implantation and compared it with the traditional bioptome method (T-B-M).

Background: The incidence of community-acquired empyema caused by the group (SAG) has been on the rise in the 2020s. To the best of our knowledge, while empyema caused individually by either strain has been reported, there are no reports on empyema caused by concurrent infection with these two strains. Here, we report for the first time empyema caused by concurrent infection with and (both SAG species) in a postoperative patient who had been treated for floor of the mouth carcinoma.

The detection sensitivity and image resolution of conventional PET scanners with a short axial field of view have been constrained, leading to a suboptimal signal-to-noise ratio. The advent of long-axial-field-of-view PET scanners, exemplified by the uEXPLORER system, marked a significant advancement.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFOur aim was to investigate probable biomarkers specific to immune-related central nervous system toxicity (CNST) in cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) by analysis of F-FDG PET/CT images. Cancer patients receiving ICI treatment were enrolled in a multicenter observational study that analyzed regional metabolic changes before and during CNST onset from January 2020 to February 2022. In 1:1 propensity score-matched pairs, the regional SUV of each bilateral brain lobe of CNST patients (CNST+) was compared with that of patients who had central nervous system infections (CNSIs) and patients without CNST or CNSI (CNST-).

Objectives: We primarily aim to find whether COVID-19 vaccination could induce potential subsequent thyroid function and mood changes. The secondary aim was to find inflammatory biomarkers associated with risk.
Objectives: To compare the diagnostic and staging efficacy of PET/diagnostic-level CT (PET/DxCT) and PET/low-dose CT (PET/LDCT) in pretreatment pediatric lymphoma patients and to estimate the reduction of the CT effective dose in the PET/CT scan.
Methods: One hundred and five pediatric patients who underwent total-body PET/CT examination were enrolled and divided into the DxCT group (n = 47) and LDCT group (n = 58) according to their dose levels. The sensitivity, specificity, PPV, and NPV of PET/DxCT and PET/LDCT for detecting the involvement of lymph node, spleen, bone marrow, and other extranodal organs in pretreatment lymphoma were compared.
Background: Patients with cancer on active immune checkpoint inhibitors therapy were recommended to seek prophylaxis from COVID-19 by vaccination. There have been few reports to date to discuss the impact of progression cell death-1 blockers (PD-1B) on immune or vaccine-related outcomes, and what risk factors that contribute to the serological status remains to be elucidated. The study aims to find the impact of PD-1B on vaccination outcome and investigate other potential risk factors associated with the risk of seroconversion failure.

Methods: We searched the following electronic databases: PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Scopus, Wanfang and China National Knowledge Infrastructure database until May 5, 2020.

Introduction: The ongoing worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‑19) has posed a huge threat to global public health. However, the issue as to whether routine blood tests could be used to monitor and predict the severity and prognosis of COVID‑19 has not been comprehensively investigated so far.
Objectives: This study aimed to provide an overview of the association of markers in the routine blood test with the severity of COVID‑19.

Background: Small nucleolar RNA host gene 20 (SNHG20) is a newly identified long non-coding RNA (lncRNA). Accumulative evidence suggest that SNHG20 is highly related to tumorigenesis. However, whether the levels of SNHG20 can be used for prognosis of patients with different cancer types was unclear.

Background: Preoperative estimation of microvascular invasion is of great significance for the clinical decision making in hepatocellular carcinoma. Neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) has been reported to be correlated with the poor prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma. However, the conclusions are conflicting on whether high preoperative NLR level is associated with the presence of microvascular invasion.

During each enzymatic turnover, reduction of the active site disulfide in the catalytic large subunit is performed by a pair of shuttle cysteine residues in its C-terminal tail. Thioredoxin (Trx) and glutaredoxin (Grx) are ubiquitous redox proteins, catalyzing thiol-disulfide exchange reactions.

Although a few studies have reported an association between high serum ferritin levels and an increased risk of prostate cancer, the results are inconsistent. Therefore, we performed a large case-control study consisting of 2002 prostate cancer patients and 951 control patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
