Background: Cardiovascular disease with multimorbidity imposes substantial long-term financial burdens. Financial toxicity, the financial burden associated with healthcare, is increasingly recognized as a psychosocial stressor affecting health outcomes among chronically ill populations. However, its psychological heterogeneity in non-cancer patients is understudied.

This study investigated the digestion characteristics of the polysaccharide fermented using (LA-rSFP) and its effects on dextran sulfate sodium-induced intestinal inflammation in zebrafish. The treatment substantially decreased the molecular weight of LA-rSFP and increased the reducing sugar content during gastrointestinal digestion. LA-rSFP considerably enhanced the activities of superoxide dismutase and catalase and markedly decreased malondialdehyde content, indicating a reduction in oxidative stress in the intestinal environment.

Anomaly detection is inherently challenging, as anomalies typically emerge only at test time. While reconstruction-based methods are popular, their reliance on CNN backbones with local receptive fields limits discrimination and precise localization. We propose FFC-AD, a reconstruction framework using Fourier Feature Convolutions (FFCs) to capture global information early, and we introduce Hidden Space Anomaly Simulation (HSAS), a latent-space regularization strategy that mitigates overgeneralization.

Anxiety disorders pose a considerable global health challenge, ranking as the most prevalent type of mental illness. This study delineates the trends in incidence, prevalence, and years lived with disability (YLDs) for anxiety disorders at global, regional, and national levels between 1992 and 2021, with an emphasis on the independent effects of age, period, and birth cohort. Incidence, prevalence, and YLDs were selected as burden indicators of anxiety disorders, following the standardized methodologies of the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD) 2021, with data presented as numerical counts and age-standardized rates (ASRs) per 100,000 population.

The slow reaction kinetics of the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is one of the important challenges facing the development of a cathode in low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells (LT-SOFCs). Herein, we developed the (SmSr)(NiFe)O [-SSNF ( = 1, 2, 3)] cathode with a Ruddlesden-Popper (R-P) structure to investigate its oxygen ion conduction mechanism and cathodic ORR activity. Consequently, the cell device of the -SSNF ( = 3) cathode accomplished an impressive peak power density of 658 mW·cm.

To construct a risk matrix for pediatric delirium in the intensive care unit (ICU), quantitatively evaluate the risk index of each risk factor, and provide a reference for optimizing the clinical management of pediatric delirium. Based on the risk matrix theory, a risk matrix was constructed for pediatric delirium in the ICU using literature research, Delphi expert consultation, and the Borda method. The 2-dimensional risk matrix revealed that of the 52 risk factors.

Background: Chronic kidney disease due to type 2 diabetes mellitus (CKD-T2DM) is a predominant and life-threatening complication of T2DM, with significant inequalities in its epidemiological features globally. This study aimed to examine cross-country inequalities in the epidemiology of CKD-T2DM from 1990 to 2021.

Methods: Data were extracted from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021 study.

Background: As a pivotal reproductive factor, age at last live birth (ALLB) plays a critical role in a woman's health trajectory, including the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Methods: In this prospective cohort study from the China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB), 148,456 parous postmenopausal women were included. ALLB was further classified equally into tertiles (<26 years, 26-29 years, and ≥30 years).

Choline has been proven to be effective in maintaining liver function. However, the effect of choline, in combination with other nutrients, on the improvement of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the potential effect of the nutraceutical complex containing choline bitartrate, zinc citrate, and dl-α-Tocopheryl acetate on NAFLD in the zebrafish model.

Piroplasmosis and anaplasmosis are important zoonotic diseases of animal origin, which can be transmitted by ticks to infect animals. However, there is limited information on the infection of piroplasmosis and anaplasmosis in Tan sheep in Ningxia, China. In order to understand the prevalence of piroplasmosis and anaplasmosis in Tan sheep in Ningxia, 150 blood samples of Tan sheep from farms in five urban areas of Ningxia were detected by PCR, and some positive samples were sequenced to establish a phylogenetic tree.

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) poses a significant global health challenge. This study examined trends in the incidence, prevalence and mortality of RA from 1990 to 2021 at global, regional and national levels, alongside age, period and cohort effects.

Methods: Age-standardised rates (per 100 000 population) on RA incidence, prevalence and mortality were extracted from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study 2021.

Background And Aims: Currently, there are no biomarkers with high accuracy in the detection of pancreatic cancer. This article aims to evaluate the performance of a novel diagnostic model based on a combination of biomarkers in the washing fluid obtained by EUS-FNA with imaging examination in pancreatic cancer.

Methods: This study included 59 patients with pancreatic lesions who underwent EUS-FNA and were categorized into malignant and benign groups on the basis of pathology diagnosis.

Introduction: Increasing research has focused on the influence of diet on mental health and well-being. This study aimed to investigate dietary habits status and their associations with emotional and behavioral problems (EBPs) in pre-teen children, as well as explore the mediating effect of child self-concept in the associations between healthy dietary habits and EBPs.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey using stratified random sampling was conducted to recruit third-grade children and their caregivers.

Background: Reduced oocyte quality is a key factor in age-related fertility decline, and there are no effective treatments available. The secretome of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC-sec) contains various bioactive factors and has the potential to improve oocyte quality. This study aimed to investigate the effective component and molecular mechanism of MSC-sec involved in improving oocyte quality from aged mice and humans.

Background: Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a potentially life-threatening condition characterized by inflammation of the pancreas, which can lead to complications such as pancreatic necrosis. The modified computed tomography severity index (MCTSI) is a widely used tool for assessing the severity of AP, particularly the extent of pancreatic necrosis. The accurate and timely assessment of the necrosis volume is crucial in guiding treatment decisions and improving patient outcomes.
