Aim: Schizophrenia and affective disorders all show high heterogeneity in clinical manifestations. A lack of objective biomarkers has long been a challenge in the clinical diagnosis of these diseases. In this study, we aimed to investigate the performance of niacin skin flushing in schizophrenia and affective disorders and determine its clinical potential as an auxiliary diagnostic marker.

Anisotropic Seeded Growth of Ag Nanoplates Confined in Shape-Deformable Spaces.

Conventional templating synthesis confines the growth of seeds in rigid spaces to achieve faithful morphological replication. Herein, we explore the use of spherical shape-deformable polymeric nanoshells to regulate the anisotropic growth of Ag nanoplates. The flexible shells deform adaptively to accommodate the initial overgrowth of the seeds but restrict the growth in the directions where the shells are fully stretched, eventually producing nanoplates with an unconventional circular profile.

Dual Roles of Polymeric Capping Ligands in the Surface-Protected Etching of Colloidal Silica.

In this work, we reveal the dual roles of polymeric capping ligands in the hollowing of silica nanospheres during their surface-protected etching. We first show that polymeric capping ligands, if they have a stronger interaction with the surface Si-OH groups than water, can reduce the condensation of the silica network, allowing the diffusion of OH ions through the shell to dissolve the inner silica. Also, the polymeric ligands can passivate the surface silica, making it less likely to be dissolved by OH ions.

[Prediction model of mid-term fatality risk after radical resection in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma based on ALBI-grade].

Objective: To establish a clinical prediction model of the mid-term fatality risk after radical resection in patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) based on the albumin-bilirubin (ALBI) grade and to assess its prediction value.

Methods: Clinical data of 533 patients who received HCC radical resection in Jinhua Hospital of Zhejiang University, Jinhua People's Hospital, Jinhua Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Jinhua Guangfu Hospital from January 2010 to August 2016 were retrospectively reviewed. In the training group ( =407), Cox model was used to screen the clinical risk factors of postoperative death, and a predictive model based on ALBI grade was established and then examined in the validation group ( =126).
