Background: Gynecomastia, characterized by benign proliferation of male breast glandular tissue, is a prevalent condition with complex etiologies. However, the absence of effective models has hindered mechanistic investigations and therapeutic development.
Methods: In this study, we established and characterized organoids derived from the breast tissues of six male gynecomastia patients, including physiological, idiopathic, and hormone-related subtypes.

This study evaluated the effect of a novel fixed-time artificial insemination (FTAI) protocol for gilts, which incorporates altrenogest tablets (ALT-T), long-acting recombinant porcine FSH (rpFSH), and recombinant hCG (rhCG). A total of 160 gilts were divided into the control (n = 80) and the new treatment (n = 80) groups. Control gilts received oral altrenogest solution (20 mg/day) for 18 days, followed by 1000 IU equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG) administered 42 h post-treatment and 100 μg GnRH 80 h later.

As symptoms are often overlooked or misattributed to ageing, these associations are unclear in older adults. This study investigated the longitudinal relationships between ER difficulties, ED psychopathology (e.

Methods: Adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to LTPRA surgery performed at 0mm, 1mm and 2mm from the sciatic nerve or by cutting only the skin muscle to expose the sciatic nerve.
Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains a global health burden, with disproportionately high mortality in China's Guangxi region, where endemic Clonorchis sinensis (C. sinensis) infection coincides with elevated HCC incidence. Preliminary single-cell sequencing revealed marked overexpression of cluster of differentiation 24 (CD24) in HCC tissues, suggesting its potential pathological role.

However, critical issues such as moisture sensitivity, sluggish kinetics, and phase degradation, particularly the irreversible lattice oxygen redox and parasitic side reactions, have significantly constrained their development. Here, we create a coherent gradient lattice reconstruction on an O3-type layered oxide surface via nonaqueous solvent-assisted ion exchange to mitigate O loss and interfacial issues.

A total of 1428 Chinese adolescents (607 boys, 821 girls) participated in a four-wave longitudinal study over 18 months. Separate within-person contemporaneous and temporal networks were estimated for boys and girls, both demonstrating adequate network stability.

This study specifically examined the occurrence of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome in the elderly (MODSE) following hip fracture surgery and explored its predictive model and correlation with long-term mortality.
Methods: This prospective cohort study included all patients aged 80 years and older who underwent hip fracture surgery at a tertiary orthopedic hospital between January 2020 and March 2021.

Elderly groups usually have an inflammatory response in their bodies, and neuroinflammation is the main pathogenic mechanism of neurological diseases. Pharmacological and pharmacodynamic experiments showed that aspirin eugenol ester (AEE) had good anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-hyperlipidemic effects. However, whether AEE can prevent neurological diseases in the old companion animal has not been explored.

Background: Endocarditis is a serious cardiovascular infection associated with high mortality and disability. Its global epidemiological patterns and long-term trends have not been comprehensively characterized.
Methods: Data from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Study 1990-2021 were used to evaluate the prevalence, incidence, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), and Deaths of endocarditis across 204 countries and territories.
Background & Aims: Malnutrition is a significant health issue in hospital settings, with persistent diagnostic challenges. Despite the Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM) criteria providing a standardised approach, nationwide validation and implementation remain limited. We aimed to estimate the national prevalence of GLIM-defined malnutrition among Chinese adult inpatients and assess the predictive value of the GLIM criteria for short-term clinical outcomes.

Fascia iliaca compartment block (FICB) is a well-established method for preoperative analgesia in these patients, but whether liposomal bupivacaine is more effective for this application remains uncertain. This trial aims to evaluate whether liposomal bupivacaine provides superior preoperative analgesia compared to ropivacaine in elderly patients with intertrochanteric femur fracture.

This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of envafolimab, the first subcutaneously administered programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) inhibitor, combined with lenvatinib and etoposide in patients with platinum-resistant recurrent ovarian cancer.
Methods: This was an open-label, single-arm, phase 2 trial (ENLEN-OC-001).

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells have demonstrated promising therapeutic outcomes in hematologic malignancies, but efficacy against most solid tumors, including ovarian cancer (OC). To address CAR-T challenges, we generated CAR-T cells (B4M3 CAR-T) targeting two tumor-associated antigens, B7H3 and MSLN, simultaneously. Immunohistochemistry and proteomics technologies, were employed to analyze the xenograft tumor tissues and key organ tissues at the end of the treatment in vivo assays.

Summary: Sustained engagement in HIV care and adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART) are essential for achieving the UNAIDS "95-95-95" targets. Despite increased ART access, disengagement from care remains a significant issue, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. Traditional machine learning (ML) models have shown moderate success in predicting care disengagement, which would enable early intervention.
