The INHBA gene, also known as inhibin β, has a wide range of roles to play in this context. Through studies, several researchers have confirmed that an abnormal expression of the INHBA gene affects the development and prognosis of several malignant tumors (cervical, colorectal, breast, gastric, etc).

Introduction: Long noncoding RNAs are essential regulators in numerous biological processes and have been linked to various diseases, including cancer. Despite their initial classification as transcriptional byproducts, lncRNAs have been shown to modulate chromatin structure, transcription, RNA processing, protein translation, and intranuclear transport. LINC-PINT, a lncRNA induced by P53, is particularly noteworthy for its role in tumor suppression across multiple cancers.

Background: Myocyte enhancer factor 2C (MEF2C) is a pivotal transcription factor that is responsible for maintaining myocyte differentiation. MEF2C is multifunctional, participating in diverse biological processes, including cardiac morphogenesis, angiogenesis, neurogenesis, and cortical development. Emerging evidence has identified MEF2C as a novel oncogene with dual regulatory functions in tumorigenesis.

In recent years, the function and progress of lncRNA have attracted the attention of more and more researchers. Specifically, the long non-coding RNA, TSIX (TSIX transcript, XIST antisense RNA), plays a significant role in ensuring random X-chromosome inactivation.

Background: The smooth muscle α‑actin 2‑antisense 1 (ACTA2-AS1), also known as ZXF1, is an emerging cancer-associated long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that has garnered significant attention in recent years. ACTA2-AS1 is situated on human chromosome 10 at location 10q23.31, comprising five exons and a single transcript.

Our previous research has demonstrated that the total saponins from Panax japonicus (TSPJ) reduce IR in adipocytes and promote the M2 polarization of macrophages, but the molecular mechanism is unclear.
Purpose: In the study, we aimed to elucidate whether TSPJ mitigate IR by enhancing the intercellular communication between adipocytes and macrophages and describe how the exosomes from bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) modulate the insulin sensitivity of adipocytes via miR204.
Selenium is an indispensable nutrient for plants, and optimizing selenium levels can enhance plant growth and metabolism, leading to improved yield and quality. In comparison to conventional inorganic or organic selenium fertilizers, nano-selenium demonstrates superior safety and enhanced biological activity, making it more suitable for crop production. Although nano-selenium fertilizer is extensively used in various crops, its application in pak choi remains limited.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLong non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are RNA molecules exceeding 200 nucleotides in length with minimal or no protein-coding potential. However, a large number of lncRNAs have been discovered as research has progressed, and the traditional view of these noncoding RNAs does not appear to be entirely correct. Recent research has also unveiled their significant roles in various biological processes, spotlighting lncRNAs' importance.

According to statistics, diabetic patients have exceeded 463 million worldwide, and the prevalence of hyperlipidemia is also continuously rising. These glycolipid metabolic diseases not only significantly increase the risk of complications such as cardiovascular disease, stroke, and kidney disease but also impose a huge economic burden on the global healthcare system.

Inflammation is intimately linked to the iron metabolism in macrophages, and ferritin heavy chain (Fth) is the basis of iron metabolism in macrophages. Regulating Fth to control iron metabolism may help to reduce inflammation in macrophages, which can ultimately help to alleviate certain aging-related diseases.

Metallothionein 1J pseudogene (MT1JP) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that functions as a tumor suppressor in various malignancies. Reduced MT1JP expression is associated with increased tumor proliferation, migration, invasion, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and treatment resistance in nine cancers, such as gastric cancer, intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and breast cancer. Mechanistically, MT1JP acts as a competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) to regulate oncogenic microRNAs (miRNAs), including miR-92a-3p, miR-214-3p, and miR-24-3p.

Adipocytic lipolysis is strongly related to the increase of visceral fat, decrease of exercise capacity, and various other metabolic syndromes during aging. It is significantly influenced by the paracrine relationship between adipocytes and the adipose tissue macrophages (ATMs), and the cytokines secreted by ATMs have endocrine effects on adjacent tissues. We previously reported that the total saponins from Panax japonicus (TSPJs) can enhance lipid metabolism.
