ObjectiveWhile quality lupus care is associated with lower lupus-related damage, the impact of access and process quality measures on other lupus outcomes remains unclear. Given high acute care in young adults, our objective was to evaluate two process quality measures, visit-based retention in lupus care and receipt of lupus-specific serologic testing, and associations with subsequent acute care use.MethodsThis cohort study used a 20% national sample of young adult (ages 18-35) Medicare beneficiaries with lupus to first measure visit-based retention in rheumatology care and receipt of ≥1 complement or dsDNA test over 1 year.

Despite the rapid growth of private tutoring, previous studies have not systematically addressed its implications for socioeconomic status (SES) disparities in education, as they have only separately examined differential access to and the effects of private tutoring. This study directly estimates the causal contribution of private tutoring to SES disparities in educational achievement and cognitive ability among Chinese middle school students. Using nationally representative longitudinal data and a novel gap-closing approach, we find that unequal access to private tutoring does not uniformally result in significant learning gaps between high- and low-SES students.

This paper aims to improve LEO satellite communications by implementing a new phased antenna array system that can significantly improve the radio communication link's performance. By adjusting the progressive phase shift to each element of the antenna array system, the direction of the main radiation lobe of the phased antenna array system can be controlled with accuracy.

Objective: To construct a simple term small-for-gestational-age (SGA) neonate prediction model that is clinically practical.
Methods: This analysis was based on the Born in Guangzhou Cohort Study (BIGCS). Mothers who had a singleton pregnancy, delivered a term neonate, and had an ultrasonography within 30 + 0 to 32 + 6 weeks of gestation were included.
We work with policymakers in eight cities worldwide to identify technology pathways toward their near- and long-term carbon emissions reduction targets for existing buildings. Based on policymakers' interests, we define city-specific shallow and deep retrofitting packages along with onsite photovoltaic generation potential. Without further grid decarbonization measures, stock-wide implementation of these retrofits in the investigated neighborhoods reduces energy use and carbon emissions by up to 66% and 84%, respectively, helping Braga, Dublin, Florianopolis, Middlebury, and Singapore to meet their 2030 goals.

This study focused on CO emissions embodied in trade (CEET) to better promote carbon emission reduction given that foreign trade occupied an increasing proportion of the global economy. Based on technical adjustment, CEET balance worldwide during 2006-2016 was calculated and compared to avoid false transfer. This study also explored the influencing factors of CEET balance and identified the transfer pathway of China.

Objective: Patients with systemic lupus erythematosus experience the sixth highest rate of 30-day readmissions among chronic diseases. Timely postdischarge follow-up is a marker of ambulatory care quality that can reduce readmissions in other chronic conditions. Our objective was to test the hypotheses that 1) beneficiaries from populations experiencing health disparities, including patients from disadvantaged neighborhoods, will have lower odds of completed follow-up, and that 2) follow-up will predict longer time without acute care use (readmission, observation stay, or emergency department visit) or mortality.

We aimed to develop the Survival After ROSC in Cardiac Arrest (SARICA), a practical clinical decision tool to predict survival in OHCA patients who attained ROSC.
Methods: We utilized real-world Singapore data from the population-based Pan-Asian Resuscitation Outcomes Study between 2010-2018.

The polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) pollution in Taihu Lake Basin has caused widespread concern. However, the spatial temporal distribution of PAHs in the upstream rivers of Taihu Lake Basin remains largely unknown. Thus, this study aims to investigate the level, spatial distribution, sources, and environment risk caused by PAHs in upstream rivers of Taihu Lake Basin.

Apoptosis plays an important role in both carcinogenesis and cancer treatment. Understanding the mechanisms through which resistance to apoptosis occurs in cancer cells has huge implications for cancer treatment. Although pieces of evidence have shown that elevated levels of global O-GlcNAcylation play an anti-apoptotic role in myriad cancers, the underlying mechanism is still ambiguous.

This study aimed to successfully synthesize micro-nano-structured magnetite particles (MNMPs) with surface modification by citric acid molecules. The synthesized composites served as an adsorbent for extracting TBBPA and HBCD from environmental water samples followed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis.

Previous works showed that chronic exposure to Aroclor 1254 disrupted glucose homeostasis and induced insulin resistance in male mice. To further observe the different effects of Aroclor 1254 exposure on the pancreatic α-cells and β-cells, male mice were exposed to Aroclor 1254 (0, 0.5, 5, 50, 500 μg/kg) for 60 days, the pancreas was performed a histological examination.

Processing the wide-field big data generated by the future Square Kilometre Array (SKA) will require significant updates to current methods to significantly reduce the time consumed on data processing. Data loading and gridding are found to be two major time-consuming tasks in w-projection.

China's "13th Five-Year Plan" proposes that carbon emissions per unit of GDP be reduced by 18% from their 2015 levels. In this context, the present study uses grey relational analysis to explore the correlation degree between carbon emissions and economic, energy and population effects. This study also quantitatively analyzes the contribution rate of each driving factor by using logarithmic mean Divisia index.

Low concentrations of Ni(II) (5 and 10 mg/L) promoted the acid phase, whereas high concentrations (15, 20, and 25 mg/L) exhibited an inhibitory effect on, but did not alter the fermentative method, which mainly involved the fermentation of propionic acid. The methanogenic microorganism exhibited a strong capability adapting constantly increased Ni(II) levels.

Tributyltin (TBT) is a ubiquitous marine contaminant due to its extensive use as a biocide, fungicide and antifouling agent. However, the neurotoxic effect of TBT has not been extensively studied, especially in marine fish. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of TBT (10, 100 and 1000 ng/L) on the predatory behavior of Sebastiscus marmoratus and to look into the mechanism involved.

Mesoporous and hollow structure have been attracting increasing attention for their special properties and potential applications. Here we show a facile fabrication of hollow and mesoporous ZnO microsphere via a one-step wet chemical process using polyethylene glycol (PEG, MW 200) as the solvent and soft template. The morphology and structure of the products were characterized by using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray powder diffraction techniques.
