Barriers and Facilitators of Seeking Help for Mental Health Challenges Among Adolescents Across 13 Countries: A Qualitative Investigation.

Purpose: Adolescence is a period of developmental transition marked by a high prevalence of mental health challenges. The emergence of these challenges underscores the importance of encouraging help-seeking behaviors among adolescents to mitigate negative psychological outcomes. Gaining a deeper understanding of the lived experiences of adolescents can inform intervention development and increase access to care.

High anthropogenic pollution characterizes the 2018 tsunami deposits of Anak Krakatau (Sunda Strait, Indonesia).

Research on tsunami deposits generated by subaerial and subaqueous landslide-triggering mechanisms, such as the 2018 Anak Krakatau tsunami, remains comparatively scarce. Consequently, the characterization of these deposits is less comprehensive than that of earthquake-induced tsunamis. Few investigations have specifically targeted the characteristics of deposits resulting from this particular tsunami generation mechanism, and the geochemical characteristics of the 2018 Anak Krakatau tsunami deposit have yet to be systematically explored.

The outcome of stenting and its duration after pyeloplasty in children with ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO): a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: The complication related to the use of stent and its duration are still considered in the treatment option of UPJO despite the high success rates of several pyeloplasty techniques.

Methods: A systematic search was performed using PubMed/MEDLINE, ScienceDirect, and Cochrane databases, selecting cohort and controlled trial studies until April 2023. The following medical subject headings (MeSH) were included in the search: stent, ureteropelvic junction obstruction, pyeloplasty and children.

Translation, adaptation and measurement properties of the muscle-strengthening exercise questionnaire among university students in Indonesia.

Objectives: Despite the abundant evidence showing the benefits of muscle-strengthening exercise (MSE), no epidemiological tool is available for assessing MSE among Indonesian university students. This study is the first to adapt the Muscle-Strengthening Exercise Questionnaire (MSEQ) from its original English version into another language, specifically Indonesian, incorporating cultural adaptations and to pilot test it to assess its validity and reliability among university students in Indonesia.

Design: Translation and cultural adaptation, content validity studies, concurrent validity studies and reliability studies were conducted following COnsensus-based Standards for the Selection of Health Status Measurement INstruments guidelines.

Effect of Nanoemulsion Carbonated Hydroxyapatite-Statin Administration on the Alkaline Phosphatase Level during Orthodontic Relapse in Rats.

Background: Relapse is acknowledged as a substantial failure after orthodontic correction. As a biomarker of bone formation, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) levels will decline in compressive sites during relapse subsequent to orthodontic tooth displacement. Manipulating alveolar bone remodeling to elevate ALP levels using novel biomaterial is presently regarded as one of the innovative approaches to avert relapse effectively.

Utilization of Biospecimens as a Biobank Output for Biomedical Research-A Report from the ISBER Annual Meeting 2024 Annual Meeting Roundtable Discussions.

Despite widespread recognition of the need to increase sample utilization, the utilization rate of collected biospecimens for research is still low. In recent years, funders have shifted priorities towards supporting biobanks/collections with high utilization. Given the imperative to upscale sample utilization, a roundtable was held to discuss the considerations for maximizing and measuring the utilization of biospecimens and the output models that biobanks can employ to ensure greater impact and directly attributable advancements in medical science.

Methods: This research was a cross-sectional study. The subjects were taken by convenience sampling technique in the Neuro-ophthalmology department at Sardjito General Hospital Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and had met the inclusion and exclusion criteria.

Introduction: Dent disease (DD) is characterized by a triad of low-molecular-weight proteinuria, hypercalciuria, and nephrocalcinosis/nephrolithiasis. Mycotoxin contamination in animal feed can cause acute or chronic adverse effects on growth, productivity, and immune function in livestock. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of difructose anhydride III (DFA III) supplementation on serum biochemical parameters and intestinal environment in Japanese Black (JB) breeding cows under low-level chronic dietary exposure to zearalenone (ZEN). Using urinary ZEN concentration as an indicator of exposure, 25 JB cows were selected from a breeding farm with confirmed natural feed contamination.
