Unregulated epigenetic modifications, including histone acetylation/deacetylation mediated by histone acetyltransferases (HATs) and histone deacetylases (HDACs), contribute to cancer progression. HDACs, often overexpressed in cancer, downregulate tumor suppressor genes, making them crucial targets for treatment. This work aimed to develop non-hydroxamate benzoic acid-based HDAC inhibitors (HDACi) with comparable effect to the currently four FDA-approved HDACi, which are known for their poor solubility, poor distribution, and significant side effects.

Studying the morphological changes in dendrites and dendritic spines during the early postnatal period is essential for unraveling the development of neural circuits and synaptic connectivity. Structural alterations in the dendritic arborization and spine morphology of medium spiny neurons (MSNs) have been closely linked to various neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). While Golgi-Cox staining remains a powerful technique for visualizing individual neurons, existing protocols are predominantly optimized for adult rodent brains only.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) presents ongoing clinical challenges, often leading to relapse in many patients. The relapse is partly explained by tumor cells transitioning into a senescent state following chemotherapy or radiation, resulting in a more aggressive phenotype, contributing to disease recurrence. Consequently, combining senolytics with traditional treatments could be a viable and promising strategy in treating TNBC.

Optimal energy management of distributed generation and storage systems in microgrids plays a critical role in minimizing operational costs, reducing environmental emissions, improving power quality, and enhancing system reliability. Achieving these objectives requires comprehensive modeling of all microgrid components, including load profiles, generation sources, and the network structure. In recent years, metaheuristic optimization techniques have gained significant traction due to their flexibility and robustness in handling complex, nonlinear, and multi-objective problems without the need for initial estimations.
