Introduction: GBS may cause a devastating disease in newborns. In early onset disease of the newborn the bacteria are acquired from the colonized mother during delivery. The spider mites , and are severe pests of rubber trees in China. The predatory mite has been found to be a natural enemy of these three pests, while nothing is known about the biological performance of this phytoseiid predator against these phytophagous mites. In this study, the development, survivorship, reproduction, adult longevity, fecundity, sex ratio and population growth parameters of fed on these pests were evaluated in comparison to the factitious prey in the laboratory at 25 ± 1 °C, 75 ± 5% relative humidity and a 12:12 (L:D) h photoperiod.

Chemical defense is a crucial component of fitness in many organisms, yet the physiological regulation of defensive toxin synthesis is poorly understood, especially in vertebrates. Bufadienolides, the main defensive compounds of toads, are toxic to many predators and other natural enemies, and their synthesis can be upregulated by stressors, including predation risk, high conspecific density, and pollutants. Thus, higher toxin content may be the consequence of a general endocrine stress response in toads.

Drug delivery systems (DDSs) capable of sequential multistage drug release are urgently needed for antibacterial applications. Herein, a molecular switch-integrated, photo-responsive nanoplatform is reported based on hollow mesoporous silica nanospheres (HMSN) loaded with silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs), vancomycin (Van), and hemin (HAVH) for bacteria elimination and abscess therapy. Upon near-infrared (NIR) light irradiation, the molecular switch, hemin, can effuse from the mesopores of HMSN, triggering the release of pre-loaded Ag and Van, which enables photothermal-modulated drug release and synergistic photothermal-chemo therapy (PTT-CHT).

Herein, a cationic star polymer (SPc) was constructed to load fluopyram (flu) and prepare a flu nanoagent. Hydrogen bonding and van der Waals forces facilitated the self-assembly of the flu nanoagent, leading to the breakdown of self-aggregated flu and reducing its particle size to 60 nm.
