Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the loss of dopaminergic neurons and the accumulation of misfolded α-synuclein. Current treatments, including dopaminergic medications and deep brain stimulation (DBS), provide symptomatic relief but do not halt disease progression. Recent advances in molecular research have enabled the development of disease-modifying strategies targeting key pathogenic mechanisms, such as α-synuclein aggregation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and genetic mutations including LRRK2 and GBA1.

Lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) is one of the most common spinal disorders in elderly people and is often accompanied by neuropathic pain. Although our previous studies have demonstrated that infiltrating macrophage contribute to chronic neuropathic pain in LSS rat model, the molecular mechanisms underlying macrophage activation and infiltration have not been fully elucidated. In this study, we examined the critical role of platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) signaling pathway in neuropathic pain associated with macrophage infiltration and activation in LSS rats.

Objective: To report the territorial distribution and characteristics of healthcare centres performing surgical abortion in France, along with the accessibility of these centres.

Material And Methods: A nationwide population-based cohort study of all women hospitalized for surgical abortion was conducted from January 1 to December 31, 2022 in metropolitan France. Number, location, activity volume and use of local anaesthesia rate of surgical abortion centres were reported as distribution activity across metropolitan France.

NiO is a p-type semiconductor widely used as a hole transport material in perovskite solar cells (PSCs), yet the impact of fabrication methods on its interfacial properties and the underlying mechanisms remains unclear. This study investigates how the fabrication process─nanoparticle precursor (NP NiO) and sputtering deposition (SP NiO)─and interfacial space charge effects influence charge transport and device performance in NiO/perovskite systems. SP NiO exhibits a higher Ni/Ni ratio and greater conductivity but induces significant hole depletion and band bending at the interface, leading to reduced open-circuit voltage and efficiency.

Fluorescence-guided surgery enhances surgical precision by enabling real-time tumor visualization. Here, we developed a cathepsin B-activatable imaging probe conjugated to the EGFR-targeting antibody cetuximab (Cetux-CB probe) for fluorescence-guided resection of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). The probe consists of a cathepsin B-sensitive peptide linker, a near-infrared fluorophore (Flamma™ Fluors 749), and a quencher (qFlamma Black01), enabling enzymatic activation following tumor-specific accumulation.

Highly efficient optoelectronic devices of ultrasmall sizes are demanded as building blocks of next-generation integrated circuits, where tunable color enhances the feasibility of various applications. Here, we realize tunable multicolor nanolasers using disk-shaped axial heterostructures composed of III-nitride materials (GaN/InGaN/GaN), leveraging the optical confinement effect and active waveguiding. In heterostructure nanodisks, the development of exciton-polariton induces unique features near the resonance regime, and the formation of whispering-gallery modes facilitates optical gain processes for the polaritonic lasing of GaN.
