Background: Identifying and understanding different dyslipidemia patterns is crucial for maintaining the cardiovascular health of older adults. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the dyslipidemia profiles of the elderly population from communities in an Eastern Chinese province, focusing on dyslipidemia subtypes and patterns, and exploring the associated demographic and health-related factors.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in communities in an Eastern Chinese province.

Background: Both obesity and DNA methylation (DNAm) are influenced by genetic factors. Despite more than a thousand of obesity-related DNAm sites (CpGs) being identified, studies that account for genetic influences in these associations are limited.
Results: Using data from 1,074 twins in the Chinese National Twin Registry and bivariate structural equation models (SEMs), we investigated the phenotypic (Rph), genetic (Ra), and environmental (Re) correlations between genome-wide DNAm and three obesity indices: BMI, waist circumference (WC), and waist-to-hip ratio (WHR).

This study aims to describe the population and regional distribution characteristics of smoking behavior among adult twins in the China Twin Registry (CNTR), as well as the concordance rates for smoking behavior in monozygotic and dizygotic twins, and estimate the heritability. The study population included adult twins in CNTR who had smoking questionnaire data. A random-effects regression model was used to describe the distribution of smoking behavior among different subgroups based on various characteristics.

To explore the relationship between internal dimethylformamide (DMF) exposure levels and age and abnormal liver function in occupationally exposed workers, and to provide a reference for the prevention of DMF-induced toxicity. A total of 388 DMF exposed workers from 4 synthetic leather enterprises in Taicang City were selected by cluster sampling method from May to October 2024, and the data of occupational health examination and biological exposure indicators were collected. The relationship between N-methylcarbyl hemoglobin adduct (NMHb) and age and serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), AST/ALT and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidyase (γ-GT) was analyzed by logistic regression, interaction effect analysis, and restricted cubic spline models.

Objective: To explore the relationship between obesity indicators and DNA methylation clocks acceleration, and to analyze their temporal sequence.
Methods: Data were obtained from two surveys conducted in 2013 and 2017-2018 by the Chinese National Twin Registry. Peripheral blood DNA methylation data were measured using the Illumina Infinium Human Methylation 450K BeadChip and EPIC BeadChip.

Several crucial acceleration periods exist during aging process. Epigenetic clocks, serving as indicators of aging, are influenced by genetic factors. Investigating how the genetic contributions on these clocks change with age may provide novel insights into the aging process.

Background: Epigenetic clocks were known as promising biomarkers of aging, including original clocks trained by individual CpG sites and principal component (PC) clocks trained by PCs of CpG sites. The effects of genetic and environmental factors on epigenetic clocks are still unclear, especially for PC clocks.
Methods: We constructed univariate twin models in 477 same-sex twin pairs from the Chinese National Twin Registry (CNTR) to estimate the heritability of five epigenetic clocks (GrimAge, PhenoAge, DunedinPACE, PCGrimAge, and PCPhenoAge).

What Is Already Known On This Topic?: In China, there is limited data available on the use and coverage of the non-program, combined diphtheria, tetanus toxoid, acellular pertussis adsorbed, inactivated poliovirus and haemophilus influenzae type b (DTaP-IPV/Hib) pentavalent vaccine, and its role as a substitute for the separately administered standalone program vaccines.
What Is Added By This Report?: We evaluated the use and coverage of the pentavalent vaccine in nine provincial-level administrative divisions (PLADs) spanning eastern, central, and western China from 2019 to 2021. Initial use and coverage were low, but demonstrated annual growth albeit with regional and urban-rural discrepancies.

Epigenetic clocks based on DNA methylation have been known as biomarkers of aging, including principal component (PC) clocks representing the degree of aging and DunedinPACE representing the pace of aging. Prior studies have shown the associations between epigenetic aging and T2DM, but the results vary by epigenetic age metrics and people. This study explored the associations between epigenetic age metrics and T2DM or glycemic traits, based on 1070 twins (535 twin pairs) from the Chinese National Twin Registry.

To conduct active surveillance of pneumoconiosis in Jiangsu Province in 2019, to understand the status quo of occupational health of dust-exposed workers, timely detect occupational health damage and occupational hazard factors, and provide scientific basis for the prevention and control of pneumoconiosis in the future. From January to December 2019, counties (cities and districts) with relatively concentrated dust hazard enterprises in Jiangsu Province were selected as monitoring points to carry out active surveillance of pneumoconiosis, and occupational health examination of dust workers (3540 people) in 255 enterprises were carried out, including chest radiographs and lung function examinations. causes a considerable disease burden among children in China. Many isolates exhibit antimicrobial resistance but are often serotypes covered by the 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13). Because the approved infant immunization schedule in China allows PCV13 vaccination only for those 6 weeks to 15 months of age, this phase 3 study was conducted to evaluate PCV13 immunogenicity and safety in unvaccinated older infants and children.

Purpose: Diabetes and dyslipidemia are among the most common chronic diseases with increasing global disease burdens, and they frequently occur together. The study aimed to investigate differences in the heritability of glycemic traits and serum lipid indicators and differences in overlapping genetic and environmental influences between them across age groups.
Methods: This study included 1189 twin pairs from the Chinese National Twin Registry and divided them into three groups: aged ≤ 40, 41-50, and > 50 years old.

Background: The prevalence of obesity and cardiometabolic diseases continues to rise globally and obesity is a significant risk factor for cardiometabolic diseases. However, to our knowledge, evidence of the relative roles of genes and the environment underlying obesity and cardiometabolic disease traits and the correlations between them are still lacking, as is how they change with age. Method: Data were obtained from the Chinese National Twin Registry (CNTR).

Coxsackievirus B5 (CVB5) is an important enterovirus B species (EV-Bs) type. We used the full-length genomic sequences of 53 viral sequences from the national hand, foot, and mouth disease surveillance network in the Chinese mainland (2001-2021). Among them, 69 entire coding region nucleotide sequences were used for CVB5 genotyping and genetic evolution analysis.

Echovirus, a member of the Enterovirus B () family, has led to numerous outbreaks and pandemics, causing a broad spectrum of diseases. Based on the national hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) surveillance system, seven strains of echovirus 33 (E33) were isolated from Mainland of China between 2010 and 2018. The whole genomes of these strains were isolated and sequenced, and phylogenetic trees were constructed based on the gene sequences in different regions of the prototype strains.
