Although monocrystalline oxide films offer broad functional capabilities, their practical use is hampered by challenges in patterning. Traditional patterning relies on etching, which can be costly and prone to issues like film or substrate damage, underetching, overetching, and lateral etching. In this study, we introduce a dual lift-off method for direct patterning of oxide films, circumventing the etching process and associated issues. Our method involves an initial lift-off of amorphous SrAlO or SrAlO (SAO) through stripping the photoresist, followed by a subsequent lift-off of the functional oxide thin films by dissolving the SAO layer. SAO functions as a "high-temperature photoresist", making it compatible with the high-temperature growth of monocrystalline oxides. Using this method, patterned ferromagnetic LaSrMnO and ferroelectric BiFeO were fabricated, accurately mirroring the shape of the photoresist. Our study presents a straightforward, flexible, precise, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective method for patterning high-quality oxide thin films.

Direct printing of pharmaceutical powders allows the creation of personalized paediatric dosage forms, such as orodispersible films (ODFs). In this study, we present an optimized protocol to prepare midazolam (MDZ)/γ-cyclodextrin (γ-CD) inclusion complex-loaded ODFs using the innovative direct powder extrusion 3D printing technique (DPE). ODFs were formulated with a polymer blend consisting of polyethylene oxide and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, in the presence or without γ-CD.

High-voltage lithium metal batteries (LMBs) have emerged as ideal candidates for achieving high-energy-density energy storage devices. Notably, high-reactive lithium metal and high-voltage transition metal oxide cathodes require electrolytes with superior electrochemical stability and interfacial compatibility. Herein, a solvent chemistry electrolyte design strategy is proposed that a weakly-solvated fluorinated bis(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl) carbonate (TFEC) was introduced into carbonate electrolyte for enhanced high voltage performance.

White spot lesions (WSLs) are the most common complication of orthodontic treatment, compromising dental health and significantly affecting aesthetics. To address this clinical challenge, this study aims to develop a dual-functional therapeutic strategy that simultaneously promotes the remineralization of demineralized enamel and inhibits the activity of cariogenic bacteria, thereby achieving effective prevention and treatment of WSLs. A hollow double-shell structured CuO@N/C nanozyme (H-CuO@N/C) was synthesized using a one-step hydrothermal method.

A nanometer-scale multilayer gate insulator (GI) engineering strategy is introduced to simultaneously enhance the on-current and bias stability of amorphous InGaZnO thin-film transistors (a-IGZO TFTs). Atomic layer deposition supercycle modifications employ alternating layers of AlO, TiO, and SiO to optimize the gate-oxide stack. Each GI material is strategically selected for complementary functionalities: AlO improves the interfacial quality at both the GI/semiconductor and GI/metal interfaces, thereby enhancing device stability and performance; TiO increases the overall dielectric constant; and SiO suppresses leakage current by serving as a high-energy barrier between AlO and TiO.

The direct deposition of piezoelectric ceramic thin films onto metal foils has become a significant challenge due to the increasing demand for embedded decoupling capacitors, nanogenerators, and flexible piezo-sensors. However, traditional thermal sintering (TS) methods present several issues for metal foils, including alterations in mechanical properties, the formation of wrinkles, and the need for precise control over the sintering atmosphere to prevent oxidation. In this study, we successfully crystallized BaTiO on a Ni foil under atmospheric conditions, mitigating thermal damage to the foil through a hybrid-solution-incorporated photoassisted chemical solution deposition (HS-PCSD) method.
