This study explores the effects of selenium-enriched yeast supplementation on growth-related and immune-related gene expression in , aiming to support feed optimization in oyster aquaculture. Selenium, an essential trace element, is vital for growth, immune function, and metabolism in animals. Selenium-enriched yeast, an organic form, offers superior bioavailability, enabling efficient absorption and utilization. , a commercially significant marine shellfish, is rich in protein and nutrients, but the effects of selenium on mollusks remain insufficiently explored. In this study, oysters were divided into three groups: a control group without selenium (THNP), a 2 ppm selenium group (THMP), and a 4 ppm selenium group (THHP). Transcriptome sequencing yielded 388,679,026 clean reads. GO and KEGG enrichment analyses identified key metabolic signaling pathways, and a PPI analysis was performed on the translation products of DEGs involved in the KEGG pathways. qRT-PCR validated the expression of principal DEGs. The combined results of enrichment and PPI analyses highlighted pathways such as glutathione metabolism and collagen signaling. Additionally, three hub genes-, , and -were identified as central to the selenium response. These findings enhance the understanding of selenium's molecular impact on oysters and support its application in aquaculture.

Zearalenone (ZEA) is an environmental endocrine disruptor generated by fungi, which mainly causes reproductive injury. Total flavonoids of Astragalus membranaceus Bunge (TFA) is one of the most beneficial components of Astragalus membranaceus Bunge with a variety of pharmacological effects, selenium (Se) is a trace element with antioxidant effect, but it remains unclear whether their combination can control the reproductive toxicity caused by ZEA. This study aims to determine the effects and potential mechanisms of TFA combined with Se-enriched yeast (SeY) against ZEA-induced reproductive injury in male mice.

Diabetic bone disease (DBD) is a severe skeletal complication arising from metabolic dysregulation and redox imbalance during diabetes progression. Its core pathological mechanism involves reactive oxygen species (ROS)-mediated decoupling of angiogenesis-osteogenesis, yet no targeted therapies exist. Herein, we present a biosynthesis strategy to engineer selenium-doped carbon quantum dots (SeYCQDs) from selenium-enriched yeast (SeY) as a bifunctional nanozyme for DBD treatment.

Selenium is an essential trace element for human health, but it mainly exists in an inorganic form that cannot be directly absorbed by the body. Brewer's yeast efficiently converts inorganic selenium into bioavailable organic selenium, making selenium-enriched yeast highly significant for human health research. Selenomethionine (SeM) is an important indicator for evaluating the quality of selenium-enriched yeast.
