Article Abstract

A scalable excitation platform for nanophotonic emitters using individually addressable micro-LED-on-CMOS arrays is presented. Heterogeneous integration by transfer printing of semiconductor nanowires was used for the deterministic assembly of the infrared emitters embedded in polymer optical waveguides with a high yield and positional accuracy. Direct optical pumping of these emitters is demonstrated using micro-LED pixels as a source, with optical modulation (on-off keying) measured up to 150 MHz. A micro-LED-on-CMOS array of pump sources was employed to demonstrate individual control of multiple waveguide-coupled nanowire emitters in parallel, enabling future large-scale photonic integrated circuit applications.

Rational design of both mechanistic pathways and material compositions is essential to advance COF-based electrochemiluminescence (ECL) systems. In this study, aggregation-induced emission covalent organic framework (AIE-COF) nanoprobes with excellent ECL performance were developed based on Tb-functionalized covalent organic framework (Tb@A-COF). The Tb@A-COF system demonstrates enhanced ECL performance through synergistic integration of three complementary mechanisms: (1) (4',4',4',4'-(1,2-ethenediylidene)tetrakis [1,1'-biphenyl]-4-carboxaldehyde (ETBC) ligands function as antenna-like sensitizers that amplify luminescence intensity by 14.

Nickel cobalt carbonate hydroxide (NCCH) nanostructures with tunable morphologies, crystallite sizes, and defect structures are synthesized using a pH-modulated hydrothermal approach to explore the correlation between structural properties and electrochemical performance. Significant variations in crystallinity, surface area, chemical structure, and morphology are observed, as confirmed by synchrotron X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller analyses. Among the samples, the one synthesized at pH = 8.

Lithium metal (Li) has been regarded as one of the most ideal anode materials for next-generation high-energy-density batteries, but the problem of uncontrollable growth of Li dendrites leading to poor cycling stability of Li-metal batteries has seriously limited the practical application and development of Li-metal batteries. Uniform deposition of lithium is the key to solve this problem, but it is difficult to realize on commercial copper collectors (CuCCs). In this study, a simple and efficient strategy is adopted: the lithophilic surface modification of CuCCs with AgNWs, and the innovative introduction of photoluminescent nano-welding technology to achieve the stability of the silver nanowire network structure and improve the electrochemical performance.

The pervasive detection of trace 17β-estradiol (E2) in aquatic ecosystems necessitates innovative analytical platforms capable of ultrahigh sensitivity and field applicability. Herein, we report a nanofluidic biosensor integrating polydopamine-functionalized graphene oxide (PDA/GO) membranes with an entropy-driven DNA circuit and hyperbranched DNA nanowires (HDW) for femtomolar-level E2 quantification. Leveraging E2-specific aptamer recognition, the system triggers an entropy-driven DNA circuit and subsequent hierarchical assembly of guanine quadruplex (G4)-enriched HDW nanostructures on nanochannel surfaces, amplifying interfacial electronegativity through phosphate backbone accumulation.

Tandem catalysis is an effective approach to achieve highly selective and high-rate multi-electron/proton transfer reactions, such as nitrate electroreduction, which are important for various physicochemical and biological processes. However, present tandem catalysts suffer from uncontrollable interface, limited crystal phase, and complex synthesis protocols. Here, we report facile seed-mediated synthesis of unconventional phase 4H/fcc Au-Cu heterostructures with a unique beaded-bracelet nanostructure (BBN).
