Herein, we report an Fe/Co dual-catalyzed strategy for synthesizing alkenyl unnatural amino acids and peptide modifications. This approach utilizes aspartic acid and glutamic acid derivatives as alkyl radical precursors. It avoids the use of expensive photoredox catalysts and substrate preactivation while preserving the chirality of the amino acids. Furthermore, this strategy enables both modification of peptides and the synthesis of amino-acid-based drug candidates for boron-neutron capture therapy (BNCT).

Central nervous system tumors with BCL6 corepressor (BCOR) internal tandem duplications (ITDs) constitute a rare, recently characterized pediatric neoplasm with distinct molecular and histopathological features. To date, 69 cases have been documented in the literature, including our institutional case. These neoplasms predominantly occur in young children, with the cerebellum representing the most frequent anatomical location.

Background/aims: The quantification of amino acids in the dairy industry is necessary for quality control and for the formulation of functional foods. Thus, the development of enzymatic biosensors requires a detailed study of enzyme kinetics. Parameters such as KM and Vmax are necessary to optimize the sensitivity and specificity of the biosensor.

Objectives: To investigate the therapeutic effect of acupuncture in a rat model of insomnia and its regulatory effect on the glutamic acid (Glu)/γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-glutamine (Gln) metabolic loop.
Methods: Forty male SD rats were randomly assigned to control group, model group, group and group (=10). In the latter 3 groups, rat models of insomnia were established by intraperitoneal injections of p-chlorophenylalanine and verified using a sodium pentobarbital-induced sleep test.

Objectives: To clarify the role of hippocampal glutamate system in regulating HPA axis in mediating the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) at the heart meridian for improving myocardial injury in rats with acute myocardial ischemia (AMI).
Methods: Male SD rats were randomized into sham-operated group, AMI group, EA group, and L-glutamic acid+EA group (=9). Rat models of AMI were established by left descending coronary artery ligation, and EA was applied at the "Shenmen-Tongli" segment; the rats in L-glutamic acid+EA group were subjected to microinjection of L-glutamic acid into the bilateral hippocampus prior to AMI modeling and EA treatment.

Objectives: To investigate the impact of prenatal fear stress on placental amino acid transport and emotion and cognition development in offspring rats.
Methods: Thirty pregnant Wistar rats were randomized equally into control and fear stress (induced using an observational foot shock model) groups. In each group, placental and serum samples were collected from 6 dams on gestational day 20, and the remaining rats delivered naturally and the offspring rats were raised under the same conditions until 8 weeks of age.
