The 20S proteasome is a core component of the ubiquitin-proteasome system, participating in various biological processes such as cell cycle regulation, signal transduction, apoptosis, and protein homeostasis. However, its roles in mammals are well-documented, its function in the insect intestine remains largely unexplored. In this study, we identified 14 20S proteasome subunits, including 7 α-subunits and 7 β-subunits in Locusta migratoria, a worldwide agricultural pest.

Background: Classification of rose species and verities is a challenging task. Rose is used worldwide for various applications, including but not restricted to skincare, medicine, cosmetics, and fragrance. This study explores the potential of Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) for species and variety classification of rose flowers, leveraging its advantages such as minimal sample preparation, real-time analysis, and remote sensing.

Introduction: Climate health is gaining prominence in medical curricula worldwide, with academic and healthcare institutions setting targets to reach carbon net zero. However, the integration of evidence-based strategies to reduce carbon footprint in medical education is constrained by a scarcity of research. This research study uses a novel approach to quantifying the carbon footprint of three teaching modalities within an undergraduate medical curriculum.

Social wasps make up a significant part to the diversity of the Hymenoptera order, one of the most varied insect groups. Beyond their ecological importance, these insects use their venom for defense, protecting their colonies. The venom of social wasps are rich in biologically active substances, including biogenic amines, peptides, proteins, enzymes, allergens, and volatile compounds.

Water eutrophication has emerged as a pervasive ecological challenge worldwide. To realize the resource utilization of waste and nutrients, a novel rape straw-derived biochar-calcium alginate composite (M-CA-RBC) immobilized Pseudomonas sp. H6 was synthesized to simultaneously remove phosphate (PO) and ammonium (NH) from distillery wastewater.
