In this study, we developed a miniaturized semi-automatic purification method based on pressure-filtration purification for sensitive HPLC-MS/MS monitoring of pesticides in aquatic products. For the first time, loofah sponge was demonstrated and utilized as a novel green, low-cost, and effective one-step purification adsorbent for fish sample. The developed method consisted of two main steps: first, target analytes were extracted from fish samples using an acetonitrile-based QuEChERS extraction method. Subsequently, the extract was automatically purified through a pressure-filtration purification column in a centrifuge, followed by HPLC-MS/MS analysis. Under optimized experimental conditions, the method exhibited excellent linearity, with a range of 0.5 to 50.0 μg/L and a correlation coefficient > 0.99. The detection and quantification limits were 0.1-1.0 and 1.0-2.0 μg/kg, respectively. Recoveries at spiked levels of 2.0, 5.0 and 30.0 μg/kg ranged from 69.95 to 107.92%, with intra-day RSDs ranging from 0.58 to 15.01 % and inter-day RSDs ranging from 0.72 % to 14.32 %.

Wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) provides a non-invasive, community-level approach to monitor infectious diseases such as COVID-19. This study investigated the temporal relationship between SARS-CoV-2 RNA levels in wastewater and reported COVID-19 cases in adjacent populations in Mexico City. A total of 40 samples were collected from the Copilco neighborhood during two epidemiological waves (April-September 2021 and November 2021-February 2022).

Background: The global emergence of vancomycin-resistant Enterococci (VRE) represents a growing threat to public health worldwide. To address this critical challenge, we isolated and characterized a novel lytic bacteriophage, ENP2309, from agricultural wastewater. Comprehensive analysis revealed distinct morphological features, biological properties, and genomic characteristics of ENP2309.

Acetone is a crucial chemical and solvent with extensive industrial applications, traditionally synthesized from propane through multi-step processes that demand high temperatures and pressures. Here, we report a selective one-step conversion of propane to acetone using a heterogeneous electro-Fenton process (h-EFP) under mild conditions. In this process, concentrated ·OH radicals are generated in an iron/carbon hybrid cathode via a two-electron oxygen reduction reaction followed by HO conversion.

At present, AIDS remains a significant global health issue that requires ongoing attention. Although there is no practical cure for AIDS, hemoadsorption can effectively remove the virus from the blood and may serve as a promising treatment strategy. In this research, cellulose acetate/metal-organic framework composite beads (CA/MIL-125) with interconnected macropores were first fabricated using a one-step phase inversion method and then applied as a viral hemoadsorbent for the treatment of AIDS.
