The burgeoning accumulation of spent lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), a byproduct from the widespread adoption of portable electronics and electric vehicles, necessitates efficient recycling strategies. Direct recycling represents a promising strategy to maximize the value of LIB waste and minimize harmful environmental outcomes. However, current efforts to large-scale direct recycling face challenges stemming from heterophase residues (e.g., LiCO, LiOH) in the recycled products and uncontrolled interfacial instability, often requiring repeated washing that generates significant wastewater. Here, a refined direct recycling process is proposed to improve cathode interface stability by leveraging in situ reaction between surface residual lithium species and a weak inorganic acid to form a conformal Li conductive coating that stabilizes the regenerated Ni-rich cathodes with significantly reduced water footprint. The findings reveal that the conductive coating also prevents direct contact between contaminants and the cathode surface, thus improving the ambient storage stability. By eliminating the need for extensive washing, this intensified recycling process offers a more sustainable approach with the potential to transition from laboratory to industrial-scale applications, improving both product quality and environmental sustainability.

Plasmids are commonly employed in the delivery of clustered regularly interspaced shortpalindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated (Cas) components for genome editing. However, the absence of heritable plasmids in numerous organisms limits the development of CRISPR/Cas genome editing tools. Moreover, cumbersome procedures for plasmid construction and curing render genome editing time-consuming.

Sequence-controlled polyester-based alternating copolymers have attracted significant interest due to their biocompatibility, biodegradability, closed-loop recyclability, and hydrolytic degradability, offering broad potential in biomedical and sustainable materials. Among the available strategies, regioselective ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of asymmetric cyclic di(thio)esters and cyclic(ester-amide)s has emerged as a promising approach for constructing alternating copolymers with precise sequence- and stereo-control, structural diversity, and tunable properties. This review classifies asymmetric cyclic monomers into two categories: (1) monomers with two aliphatic ester bonds, where regioselectivity is mainly dictated by steric differences and typically requires tailored metal catalysts; and (2) monomers with chemically distinct reactive sites (e.

A novel dual-mode sensing system integrating a magnetic core-shell CuFeO/Cu/MnO nanozyme with a stimuli-responsive agarose-deep eutectic solvent hydrogel (DES-Aga) is reported. The nanozyme exhibits exceptional oxidase-like activity, characterized by a low Michaelis constant (K = 0.14 mM) and high catalytic efficiency (V = 1.

Compared with efficient anodic luminol electrochemiluminescence (ECL), the disadvantage of cathodic ECL is that luminol cannot be electrochemically oxidized in a direct manner, and the conversion efficiency of dissolved oxygen (DO) as the coreactant to reactive oxygen species (ROS) is poor, which limits its application. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a functional catalyst suitable for the luminol-DO ECL system to directly trigger cathodic ECL. In this study, a coordination microenvironment modulation strategy was proposed.

The rapid advancement of implantable medical electronic devices has spurred substantial research into implantable energy storage systems. However, the presence of multiple film resistors in traditional sandwich structures impedes further enhancements in the electrochemical performance of supercapacitors and may result in contact failures between electrodes and separators or catastrophic short-circuit failures during tissue deformation. This study introduces a novel approach for fabricating all-in-one Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors, which effectively mitigates performance degradation and safety concerns arising from interfacial issues.
