The practical application of aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) indeed faces challenges primarily attributed to the inherent side reactions and dendrite growth associated with the Zn anode. In the present work, N-Methylmethanesulfonamide (NMS) is introduced to optimize the transfer, desolvation, and reduction of Zn, achieving highly stable and reversible Zn plating/stripping. The NMS molecule can substitute one HO molecule in the solvation structure of hydrated Zn and be preferentially chemisorbed on the Zn surface to protect Zn anode against corrosion and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), thereby suppressing byproducts formation. Additionally, a robust N-rich organic and inorganic (ZnS and ZnCO) hybrid solid electrolyte interphase is in situ generated on Zn anode due to the decomposition of NMS, resulting in enhanced Zn transport kinetics and uniform Zn deposition. Consequently, aqueous cells with the NMS achieve a long lifespan of 2300 h at 1 mA cm and 1 mAh cm, high cumulative plated capacity of 3.25 Ah cm, and excellent reversibility with an average coulombic efficiency (CE) of 99.7 % over 800 cycles.

Dopamine (DA) signaling is essential for neurodevelopment and is particularly sensitive to disruption during adolescence. Protein restriction (PR) can impair DA dynamics, yet mechanistic insights remain limited due to challenges in real-time neurochemical sensing. Here, we present aptCFE, a robust implantable aptamer-based sensor fabricated via a reagent-free, 3 min electrochemical conjugation (E-conjugation) using amine-quinone chemistry.

Breast cancer continues to present a major clinical hurdle, largely attributable to its aggressive metastatic behavior and the suboptimal efficacy of standard chemotherapeutic regimens. Cisplatin (CDDP) is a representative platinum drug in the treatment of breast cancer, however, its therapeutic application is often constrained by systemic toxicity and the frequent onset of chemoresistance. Here, we introduce a novel charge-adaptive nanoprodrug system, referred to as PP@, engineered to respond to tumor-specific conditions.

The stress distribution in Li metal strongly affects the interfacial Li-ion diffusion, thereby influencing the morphology of plated Li and the performance of the battery. Here, we report a mechano-electrochemical coupling strategy that utilizes an arched structured carbon aerogel to achieve stable Li-plating/stripping electrochemistry. The arch-structured carbon aerogel can actively regulate stress distributions in response to the compressive stresses induced by Li deposition, generating the transition of stress from compressive on the convex surface to tensile on the concave surface, which can effectively promote the Li-migration kinetics and thus suppress the non-uniform deposition of Li.

Kunjin virus (KUNV), a naturally attenuated strain of West Nile virus (WNV), shares similar transmission modes and hosts-primarily mosquitoes, birds, and horses. Globally, reverse genetics is the principal methodology for characterizing the molecular etiology of flaviviruses. In this study, cytomegalovirus (CMV) promoter-driven KUNV reporter replicons were engineered to incorporate three distinct reporter genes: Nanoluc, oxGFP, and mCherry.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of 5 cmHO positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) and end-inspiratory pause (EIP) on airway dead space (V) and its resultant effects on alveolar tidal volume (V) and physiological dead space-to-tidal volume ratio (V/V) in dorsally recumbent anesthetized dogs.
Study Design: Prospective, controlled clinical study.
Animals: Healthy adult dogs (n = 20, > 20 kg) undergoing elective surgery.
