Forearm shaft fractures are the most common fractures of the upper extremity in young adults. By definition, these fractures are diaphyseal fractures; however, due to the complex functional unity formed by the forearm shaft during motion both bone forearm fractures are treated as intra-articular fractures [1, 3]. This is why the gold standard of treatment in adults is osteosynthesis.

BACKGROUND Conventional clinical understanding holds that venous thrombus formation typically occurs days after traumatic injury. However, our findings demonstrate that acute thrombosis can begin within 7.5 hours after fracture in knee trauma cases, challenging existing paradigms.

Cranio-cerebral trauma due to crush injury is a commonly encountered cause of death in forensic practice. These mostly occur due to static loading of the head and often present as compound comminuted skull fractures with brain parenchyma extruding out of the body. In the present case, the head crushing injury occurred due to machine entrapment while the conveyor system continued to be operational.

Purpose: Segmental fractures, being associated with high energy trauma, are quite intimidating for the treating surgeon due to wide incidence of complications. The soft tissue damage and the fracture pattern in segmental fractures further disrupt the precarious nutrition of the floating intercalary segment, affecting fracture healing. Our study analyses the parameters influencing time to union in segmental fractures of femur.

This study investigated the clinical outcomes of the modified combined dorsal-volar approach for internal fixation of comminuted distal radius fractures complicated by scaphoid fractures resulting from high-energy trauma. A cohort of 100 patients with concurrent distal radius and scaphoid fractures underwent surgical management by this approach. Postoperative assessments included wrist joint function recovery, operative parameters (surgical time, intraoperative blood loss, and hospital stay), range of motion (ROM), functional scores (Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand [DASH], Bartra, and Gartland-Werley), fracture healing-related indicators, and serum inflammatory cytokine levels.
