The survival analysis of stage III and IV inoperable lung large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma and the role of LIPI in immunological stratification.

Lung Cancer

August 2025

The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, Guangzhou, China; National Center for Respiratory Medicine, National Clinical Research Center for Respiratory Disease, State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Disease, Guangzhou, China; Guangzhou Institute of Respiratory Health, Guangzhou, C

Background: Large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) represents a rare and unique type of lung tumor with an unfavorable prognosis. It is essential to summarize the treatment modalities and prognosis for inoperable stage III and IV LCNEC, explore the role of frontline immunotherapy, and examine the stratification role of the Lung Immune Prognostic Index (LIPI) and its relationship with the tumor microenvironment (TME).

Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed 160 patients with inoperable lung LCNEC (L-LCNEC) admitted to three hospitals from December 2012 to November 2023.

September 2025

Department of Urology, Urology Research Institute, the First Affiliated Hospital, Fujian Medical University, Fuzhou 350005, China; Department of Urology, National Regional Medical Center, Binhai Campus of the First Affiliated Hospital, Fujian Medical University, Fuzhou 350212, China; Fujian Key Labo

Objective: Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) present a significant long-term threat to human health attributable to their toxicological properties, chemical stability and propensity for bioaccumulation. This study seeks to explore the correlation between PCDDs exposure and prostate cancer (PCa) through comprehensive analysis.

Methods: The multi-dimensional analysis was conducted based on various online databases.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is marked by amyloid-beta (Aβ) plaque buildup, tau hyperphosphorylation, neuroinflammation, neuronal loss, and impaired adult hippocampal neurogenesis (AHN). Taurine has shown protective effects in various cellular and animal models of AD, though the molecular mechanisms of free taurine and its effects in patient-derived models remain underexplored. This study evaluates taurine's therapeutic potential using integrated in silico, in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo approaches.

IFNα2b in combination with oncolytic adenovirus enhances antitumor activity against melanoma.

Int Immunopharmacol

September 2025

The Key Laboratory of Molecular Biology of Infectious Diseases designated by the Chinese Ministry of Education, Chongqing Medical University, Chongqing 400016, China. Electronic address:

Melanoma is an aggressive malignancy originating from melanocytes, marked by its high metastatic potential, severe malignancy, and poor prognosis. The primary clinical approach involves surgical resection, complemented by adjuvant therapies such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and immunotherapies. In recent years, high-dose IFNα2b has emerged as a pivotal adjuvant therapy following surgery.

The photothermal conversion efficiency (PCE) stands as a pivotal determinant in the therapeutic efficacy of photothermal nanoagents (PTNAs) within the context of photothermal therapy (PTT). The dearth of universal strategies to greatly enhance PCE has markedly curtailed the practical deployment of PTNAs. Now this problem is addressed by proposing a universal approach founded on molecular rotors and J-aggregates, "highly efficient molecular motor matrix", to greatly elevate the PCE of traditional PTNAs.
