Article Abstract

We report here a new method to construct metal-organic zeolites (MOZs) via the mixing of dicarboxylic acid and tetrazole ligands. Two anionic MOZs, MOZ-200 and MOZ-201 with BCT and ATN topologies, were developed successfully by this approach and exhibit high selective CO uptake and Ln ion exchange.

Membrane technology for gas separation is more efficient and energy-saving than thermally driven processes, including cryogenic distillation and adsorption. Metal-organic framework (MOF) and related glass membranes hold great potential for precise gas separation, but it remains challenging to construct ultrathin MOF glass membranes and optimize their transport pathways. In this study, a strategy based on vapor-linker deposition and melt-quenching is reported to design ultrathin zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF) glass membranes with node-missing defect passageways.

Rice bacterial leaf streak (BLS) caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola (Xoc) significantly reduces rice yield and quality. Traditional chemical control methods often have limited efficacy and raise environmental concerns, highlighting the need for safer and more effective alternatives.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are remarkable electroactive materials for energy storage and electrochemical CO reduction (CORR) due to their high surface area and tunable pore structures. However, challenges such as stability, conductivity, and product selectivity at high current densities must be addressed to realize their full potential. We crossbreed a zeolite imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8)-based MOF with MXene using a simple layer-by-layer deposition technique and investigate the supercapacitive and CORR performances.

The pervasive accumulation of tetracycline (TC) in aquatic ecosystems poses severe ecological and health threats, yet conventional technologies rarely achieve reliable removal under continuous-flow conditions. To overcome the intrinsic brittleness, aggregation and leaching of powdered ZIF-67, this study developed novel alginate-encapsulated MOF composite gel spheres (ALG/ZIF-67) via in-situ crystallization. This simple strategy generates hierarchical pores, anchors Co-N active sites and imparts mechanical robustness without sacrificing adsorption kinetics.

Enrofloxacin (ENR), a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic, is widely used in both human and veterinary medicine. However, residual ENR in food and water can pose significant health risks. In this study, a novel bimetallic zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF-67@ZIF-8) a type of metal-organic framework (MOF), was synthesized at room temperature, and employed as an effective sorbent in a dispersive micro-solid phase extraction (Dμ-SPE) procedure for the rapid and sensitive detection of ENR.
