Poly(4-aminobenzoic acid)/electrochemically reduced graphene oxide composite film modified glassy carbon electrodes (4-ABA/ERGO/GCEs) were fabricated by a two-step electrochemical method. The electrochemical behavior of acetaminophen at the modified electrode was investigated by means of cyclic voltammetry. The results indicated that 4-ABA/ERGO composite films possessed excellent electrocatalytic activity towards the oxidation of acetaminophen. The electrochemical reaction of acetaminophen at 4-ABA/ERGO/GCE is proved to be a surface-controlled process involving the same number of protons and electrons. The voltammetric determination of acetaminophen performed with the 4-ABA/ERGO modified electrode presents a good linearity in the range of 0.1-65 μM with a low detection limit of 0.01 μM (S/N=3). In the case of using the 4-ABA/ERGO/GCE, acetaminophen and dopamine can be simultaneously determined without mutual interference. Furthermore, the 4-ABA/ERGO/GCE has good reproducibility and stability, and can be used to determine acetaminophen in tablets.

The sluggish kinetics and diffusion of lithium polysulfide (LiPS) intermediates lead to the decline in the capacity and rate of high-energy lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries. Integrating adsorbents and electrocatalysts into the Li-S system is an effective strategy for suppressing the polysulfide shuttle and enhancing the redox kinetics of sulfur species. The disordered structure of the electrocatalysts exhibits significantly enhanced catalytic activity.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder primarily characterized by cognitive decline and behavioral impairments, typically manifesting in the elderly and presenile population. With the rapid global aging trend, early diagnosis and treatment of AD have become increasingly urgent research priorities. The primary pathological features of AD include excessive accumulation of β-amyloid (Aβ) plaques, the formation of neurofibrillary tangles, and neuronal loss.

In this study, a one-pot hydrothermal synthesis method was used to synthesize a novel gold-yttrium trimesic acid metal-organic framework (Au-Y-TMA MOF), demonstrating significant improvements over conventional single-metal MOFs, that is, yttrium trimesic acid (Y-TMA), in both supercapacitor applications and electrochemical antibiotic detection. The X-ray diffraction patterns of Au-Y-TMA confirmed the presence and impact of Au in the Y-TMA matrix, while field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) images revealed a heterogeneous combination of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and Y-TMA, suggesting a nonuniform distribution and possible interaction. The developed half-cell supercapacitor exhibited a remarkable capacitance value of 1836 F/g at a current density of 5 A/g by galvanostatic charging-discharging (GCD) measurement.

The most significant challenge facing magnesium alloy stents is their ability to withstand complex deformation during their application. To gain a deeper understanding of the impact of stent deformation on the protective capabilities of the coating, this paper presents an amplified stent deformation model. The models were coated with either a low elongation material-Poly(D, L-lactide) (PDLLA) or a high elongation material-Poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT), followed by the application of a rapamycin-loaded PLGA as drug-eluting layer.

Organic mixed ionic-electronic conducting polymers remain at the forefront of materials development for bioelectronic device applications. During electrochemical operation, structural dynamics and variations in electrostatic interactions in the polymer occur, which affect dual transport of the ions and electronic charge carriers. Such effects remain unclear due to a lack of spectroscopic methods capable of capturing these dynamics, which hinders the rational design of higher-performance polymers.
