Light scattering in biological tissue presents a significant challenge for deep in vivo imaging. Our previous work demonstrated the ability to achieve optical transparency in live mice using intensely absorbing dye molecules, which created transparency in the red spectrum while blocking shorter-wavelength photons. In this paper, we extend this capability to achieve optical transparency across the entire visible spectrum by employing molecules with strong absorption in the ultraviolet spectrum and sharp absorption edges that rapidly decline upon entering the visible spectrum.

Rationale: Dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS) is a subtype of sarcoma that originates from atypical lipomatous tumor/well-differentiated liposarcoma and undergoes varying degrees of dedifferentiation. DDLPS can occur either concurrently with or after atypical lipomatous tumor/well-differentiated liposarcoma, with the dedifferentiated component predominantly consisting of high-grade sarcomas. Notably, only approximately 10% of DDLPS cases present as purely low-grade sarcomas.

We designed and experimentally demonstrated an innovative temperature sensor based on Mach-Zehnder interference, which was formed by splicing a piece of no-core fiber (NCF) between two conventional single-mode fibers (SMFs) with a core offset. The intentional misalignment formed a gap that can be filled with ethanol, and temperature sensing was realized using the mode interference between the two distinct optical paths passing through the NCF cladding and the ethanol solution. Although the NCF length barely influenced the sensor sensitivity, it produced a major impact on the free spectral range (FSR) value.

For coupled two-dimensional fractional differential systems, a new two-step fractional-order Runge-Kutta method is proposed in this paper, which can reach a convergence order of 2α, with α being the fractional-order number. Further, we extend the two-step fractional-order Runge-Kutta algorithm to any coupled n-dimensional fractional differential system while maintaining convergence and consistency. To demonstrate the validity of the proposed method, numerical experiments are given for a four-dimensional fractional Lorenz system, and the dynamics of the four-dimensional fractional Lorenz system is analyzed using Lyapunov characteristic exponents, bifurcation diagrams, chaos diagrams, and C0 complexity.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) induces tumor immunogenic cell death (ICD) primarily through activating endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in tumor cells. However, ER stress is shown to promote the activation and proliferation of the immunosuppressive tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), which are pivotal drivers of immune evasion. Coordinating the conflicting demands of ER stress signaling pathways in tumor cells and TAMs is crucial for potentiating PDT-based immune therapy.

The mechanisms underlying clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) metastasis remain largely unexplored. We demonstrate that Deleted in Split hand/Split foot protein 1 (DSS1), a critical cofactor of BRCA2 in DNA repair, is upregulated in metastatic ccRCC and promotes both tumor growth and distant metastasis. Mechanistically, DSS1 interacts with LC3 and promotes its degradation via TRIM25-mediated Lys63 (K63)-linked polyubiquitination at LC3B-K51.
