According to our previous microarray analysis, we found a putative calmodulin gene related to Pi deficiency and designated AtPsiCaM (Arabidopsis Pi-starvation-induced CaM). Results of structural analysis indicate that AtPsiCaM has three conserved EF-hands motif and belongs to calmodulin-like proteins family (Figs. 1-3). Northern blot analysis revealed that this gene could be induced by potassium and phosphate deficiency and not by potassium deficiency or high salinity (Fig. 4). The results of RT-PCR and GUS histochemical staining assays of the AtPsiCaM promoter::GUS transgenic plants showed that this gene can be expressed in all tissues to different expression levels (Figs. 5, 6).

The leading cause of epilepsy-related mortality is sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP), resulting from seizure-induced cardiorespiratory arrest by mechanisms that remain unresolved. Mutations in ion channel genes expressed in both brain and heart represent SUDEP risk factors because they can disrupt neural and cardiac rhythms, providing a unified explanation for seizures and lethal arrhythmias. However, the relative contributions of brain-driven mechanisms, heart-intrinsic processes, and seizures to cardiac dysfunction in epilepsy remain unclear.

The early determination of the type and severity of stresses caused by nutrient deficiency is necessary for taking timely measures and preventing a remarkable yield reduction. This study is an effort to investigate the performance of a machine learning-based model that identifies the type and severity of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and sulfur in rice plants by using the plant microRNA data as model inputs. The concentration of 14 microRNA compounds in plants exposed to nutrient deficiency was measured using an electrochemical biosensor based on the peak currents produced during the probe-target microRNA hybridization.
