Background & Aims: Microvascular invasion (MVI) is a major determinant of poor prognosis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, reliable non-invasive biomarkers for the preoperative evaluation and diagnosis of MVI are urgently needed in clinical practice.
Methods: Plasma samples were collected from 160 patients with HCC (80 MVI-positive and 80 MVI-negative) from four medical centers.
Introduction And Aims: Oral health behaviours (OHBs) of preschoolers are crucial for preventing early childhood caries (ECC); however, the relationship between parental/caregivers' factors and the OHBs of Chinese preschoolers has not been clearly defined. This study aimed to explore the relationship between parental/caregivers' social support and the OHBs of Chinese preschoolers, and whether parental stress and self-efficacy mediate this relationship serially.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in Minhang District, Shanghai, from December 2023 to March 2024, among 2393 participants recruited from parents or caregivers of preschoolers from 46 kindergartens.

Defects of articular cartilage can lead to osteoarthritis, but the effective repair of damaged cartilage is still a clinical challenge. Microrobots based on smart hydrogel can deliver drugs to cartilage defects in a minimally invasive manner. Herein, biodegradable microrobots were fabricated based on spherical microcapsules composed of sodium alginate (SA), gelatin methacrylate (GelMA) and iron oxide nanoparticles (FeO) using interficial shearing method with high mass production.

To investigate the effects of eCO and elevated temperature on carbon and lipid metabolism in soybeans, the high-oil Zhonghuang35 (ZH35) and the low-oil soybean Jindazaohuang2 (JZ2) were used in this study. Four treatments were set up in the controlled air chambers.

The accurate and timely detection of PEDV infection is essential for the control and prevention of viral transmission and outbreaks. Here, a strong plasmon coupled gold nanoantennas have been developed by Ag induced gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) assembly for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) integrated lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) toward rapid and ultrasensitive determination of PEDV.

In this study, we constructed interleukin-10 (IL-10) gene-modified adipose-derived MSCs (IL-10-ADSCs) and investigated their protective effects and underlying mechanisms on rabbit autoimmune dacryoadenitis, an animal model of autoimmune dry eye.
Methods: ADSCs were isolated from rabbit adipose tissue and transduced with IL-10 overexpressing lentivirus.

Aberrant HERV transcription has been implicated in developmental and tissue-specific aging and pathological processes. In this study, we presented a comprehensive locus-specific characterization of the HERV expression landscape in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC).

Maternal malnutrition is a significant determinant for preterm birth. Nevertheless, comprehensive studies investigating serum mineral levels during pregnancy associated with preterm birth remain scarce.

Read-through chimeric RNAs are being recognized as a means to expand the functional transcriptome and contribute to cancer tumorigenesis when mis-regulated. However, current software tools often fail to predict them. We have developed RTCpredictor, utilizing a fast ripgrep tool to search for all possible exon-exon combinations of parental gene pairs.

Currently, our understanding of the potential of glycolipids to partially reduce N fertilizer use and the effects of glycolipids on crop yield and N use efficiency is still limited. Here, a three-year in situ field experiment was conducted with seven treatments: no fertilization (CK); chemical N, phosphorus and potassium (NPK); NPK plus glycolipids (N+PKT); and PK plus glycolipids with 10% (0.

Chimeric RNAs formed by intergenic splicing provide another potential layer of RNA diversification. By analyzing a large set of RNA-Seq data and validating results in over 1,200 blood samples, we identified , a female-specific chimeric transcript.

Aims: This study aimed to determine the role of exosomal miR-6891-5p in placental trophoblast dysfunction in ICP and identify new biomarkers for ICP diagnosis.
Methods: Serum samples were collected from ICP patients and healthy pregnant women, and serum exosomes were extracted and identified.
Background: Abnormal bile acid metabolism leading to changes in placental function during pregnancy. To determine whether endoplasmic reticulum protein 29 (ERp29) can mediate the pregnancy effects of cholestasis by altering the level of trophoblast cell apoptosis.
Methods: ERp29 in serum of 66 intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) pregnant women and 74 healthy were detected by ELISA.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a family of endogenous RNAs that have become a focus of biological research in recent years. Emerging evidence has revealed that circRNAs exert biological functions by acting as transcriptional regulators, microRNA sponges, and binding partners with RNA-binding proteins. However, few studies have identified coding circRNAs, which may lead to a hidden repertoire of proteins.

Elevated [CO] (eCO) partially mitigates the adverse effects of drought stress on crop growth and photosynthetic performance, but the mitigative mechanism is not well understood. In this study, soybean seedlings under drought stress simulated by PEG-6000 were grown in climate chambers with different [CO] (400 μmol mol and 700 μmol mol).

This study aimed to examine the effect of anxiety, depression, and structural social capital on life satisfaction among people with hearing disabilities in Shanghai, China.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Shanghai, China.
The low detection sensitivity of lateral-flow immunochromatography assay (LFIA) based on spherical gold nanoparticle (AuNP) limits its wide applications. In the present study, AuNP dimers with strong plasma scattering and robust signal output were synthesized via the Ag ion soldering (AIS) strategy and used as labeled probes in LFIA to boost the sensitivity without any extra operation process and equipment. The established LFIA exhibited high sensitivity with a limit of detection (LOD) of 2.
