Background: The differential diagnosis between hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is crucial. The individual differences of patients increase the complexity of diagnosis. Currently, imaging diagnosis mainly relies on conventional computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), but few studies have investigated MRI functional imaging.

Electrolytic aluminum slag (EAS) is a secondary resource containing lithium and hazardous waste with high soluble fluorine content. In this paper, a Ca(OH) causticizing strategy is proposed for selective lithium recovery and fluorine leakage elimination from EAS. The impurities in EAS are causticized by Ca(OH) and transformed into CaF, CaAlSiO and CaAl(OH), causing the impurities in EAS to precipitate and separate from the Li dissolved in the solution.

Unlabelled: Antiviral effectors and cytokines are critical components of host innate immunity. However, the regulatory mechanisms governing the roles of these molecules in host-virus interactions are still unclear. Although long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been recognized as key players in various biological processes, their involvement in the complement system of host antiviral defenses remains to be explored.

Background: Lenticulostriate artery (LSA) arteriosclerosis is a key pathological basis for cerebrovascular diseases including stroke and cerebral small vessel disease. However, the comprehensive visualization and the meticulous quantitative analysis of the entire spectrum of LSA branches remain an ongoing clinical challenge. This study aimed to explore the efficacy of LSA branch detection using ultra-high field clinical 5.

Background: To compare the ability and potential additional value of various diffusion models, including continuous-time random walk (CTRW), restrictive spectrum imaging (RSI), and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), as well as their associated histograms, in distinguishing the pathological subtypes of liver cancer.

Methods: 40 patients with liver cancer were included in this study. Histogram metrics were derived from CTRW (D, α, β), RSI (f, f, f), and DWI (ADC) parameters across the entire tumor volume.

Objective: Hippocampal dysfunction is implicated in posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), particularly intrusive reexperiencing symptoms, and may be mediated by glutamatergic excitotoxicity. Markers of glutamate dysfunction (higher glutamate to N-acetyl aspartate levels; Glu/NAA) in the hippocampus (HPC) have been linked to reexperiencing symptoms. However, the HPC demonstrates heterogeneity along its anterior-posterior axis, with different functional connectivity patterns and PTSD symptom associations, motivating investigations into glutamate metabolism in anterior and posterior HPC subregions (a/pHPC).

The corpus callosum (CC) is the largest white matter fiber bundle connecting the two hemispheres, facilitating interhemispheric integration and hemispheric specialization. Neuroimaging studies have identified the CC as a marker for aging and various neuropsychiatric disorders. However, studies focusing on high-resolution imaging and detailed lifespan characterizations of CC morphology and connectivity are still limited, highlighting the need for further investigation.

Background: Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) with single-shot echo-planar imaging (ssEPI) is a valuable tool for detecting acute brain lesions but does suffer from image distortions. Multishot echo-planar imaging (msEPI) is a technique for reducing such distortions. This study aimed to compare the image quality and diagnostic efficacy of ssEPI- and msEPI-DWI at 5.

Article Synopsis
  • * Thirty healthy participants underwent resting-state fMRI at both magnetic fields within a short timeframe, and the spatial and functional connectivity of the networks were analyzed for consistency.
  • * Results demonstrate that both 3.0T and 5.0T yield highly consistent parcellation of functional networks within the same subjects, with 5.0T providing more detailed characteristics than 3.0T.

Object: Treatment of ruptured basilar artery trunk (BAT) aneurysms is challenging, and is associated with high complication and mortality rates. Herein, we analyzed the complications, long-term outcomes, and outcome predictors of endovascular treatment for ruptured BAT aneurysms.

Methods: Between January 2011 and July 2023, 36 patients with 36 ruptured BAT aneurysms underwent endovascular treatment at our institution.

Purpose: Glutamate chemical exchange saturation transfer (GluCEST) is a non-invasive CEST imaging technique for detecting glutamate levels in tissues. We aimed to investigate the reproducibility of the 5T GluCEST technique in healthy volunteers and preliminarily explore its potential clinical application in patients with brain tumors.

Methods: Ten volunteers (4 males, mean age 29 years) underwent three 5T GluCEST imaging scans.

Rotavirus (RV) is the main pathogen that causes severe diarrhea in infants and children under 5 years of age. No specific antiviral therapies or licensed anti-rotavirus drugs are available. It is crucial to develop effective and low-toxicity anti-rotavirus small-molecule drugs that act on novel host targets.

This study focuses on the recovery of UO from oxide spent fuel using electrodeposition. UO was used as the initial material and dissolved in NaCl-2CsCl using NHCl at high temperatures by means of chlorination reaction. The electrolysis process was conducted using a three-electrode system to investigate the effects of cathode material and diameter, electrolysis temperature, electrolysis time, electrolysis voltage, and uranium concentration in the molten salt on the electrolysis reaction.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder with motor deficits due to nigrostriatal dopamine depletion and with the non-motor/premotor symptoms (NMS) such as anxiety, cognitive dysfunction, depression, hyposmia, and sleep disorders. NMS is presented in at least one-fifth of the patients with PD. With the histological information being investigated, stem cells are shown to provide neurotrophic supports and cellular replacement in the damaging brain areas under PD conditions.
