Although known for defending against foreign DNA, key aspects of its evolutionary trajectory and functional implications after stable inheritance remain poorly understood. In this study, we identified four primary types of Type I RM systems across 4273 prokaryotic genomes based on gene arrangement.

In this study, we demonstrated the morphological adaptation of Aeromonas veronii, a severe pathogen with a wide environmental distribution. Our results establish the critical role of Small protein B (SmpB) in morphological adaptation and reveal a conserved dual-safety regulatory mechanism mediated by ArgR.

While inflammation-induced leakage of host proteins is a known phenomenon in CD, how these proteins affect the gut microbiota and contribute to dysbiosis remains unclear. One hypothesis is that commensal bacteria hijack these proteins, exacerbating inflammation in CD.

Therefore, engineered Rosetta(DE3) expressing PD-L1 nanobody (Rosetta(pPD-L1nb)) are constructed and covalently conjugated with a photosensitizer, chlorin e6 (Ce6), to develop hybrid bacteria (CeRosetta(pPD-L1nb)). As a facultative anaerobe, CeRosetta(pPD-L1nb) can targetedly accumulate and colonize at the hypoxic and hypernutrient microenvironment of tumor, consistently synthesize PD-L1nb and compete for nutrition consumption with tumor cells to inhibit tumor growth.

Emerging evidence highlights its ethnopharmacological relevance in cancer therapy, particularly for suppressing tumor progression. While melanoma remains a therapeutic challenge, Danshen's potential mechanisms against this malignancy warrant systematic exploration.

Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) is renowned for its excellent physical and chemical properties, making it a promising candidate for producing high-performance and energetic materials. However, traditional high-molecular-weight PAN suffers from poor solubility and low reactivity, which limits its application as a precursor for advanced materials. To overcome these issues, this study successfully synthesized low-molecular-weight PAN (M: 6.

Methods: We analyzed 1082 BPD patients under the age of three.
Background: Population aging in China has intensified psychological challenges for family caregivers. This study investigates the relationships among social support, caregiving experiences, and depressed mood in family caregivers of home-dwelling older adults with disabilities, aiming to provide theoretical guidance for enhancing caregivers' physical and mental well-being and optimizing home-based care services.
Methods: A random sample of 494 family caregivers from three districts in a specified city was surveyed.
Introduction: Vascular dementia (VD) is a neurodegenerative disease caused by chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH), which considerably impact patients' quality of life. Ethanol extraction from (RY-A) has gained attention for its potential neuroprotective effects, but its effects and mechanisms of action on CCH are unknown.
Methods: After 30 days of RY-A gavage treatment in a CCH rat model, its effects were evaluated using the Morris water maze test, cerebral blood flow measurements, and HE staining of the brain.

Integrated imaging techniques offer enhanced medical insights into the central nervous system by combining different modalities. In glioma diagnosis, the challenge often lies in delivering contrast agents effectively across the blood-brain barrier. We present an integrated multimodal imaging biohybrid, GV@pCY5, which enables blood-brain barrier penetrating as well as fluorescence and ultrasound (FL/US) imaging capabilities.

The utilization of carbide slag, an industrial by-product, as a resource to prepare value-added products has a profound impact not only for sustainable synthesis and the circular economy but also for CO reduction. Herein, we report the very first example of the controlled multi-dimensional assembly of calcium carbonate particles at the micrometer scale with industrial by-product carbide slag and CO. Calcium carbonate particles of distinctly different sizes, shapes, and morphologies are obtained by finely tuning the assembly conditions.

Clear aligners undergo rapid stress relaxation in warm, moist oral environments, compromising therapeutic effectiveness and longevity of treatment. To develop an innovative multilayer composite material with improved stability and reduced stress release, we have engineered an innovative coating characterized by the surface aggregation of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), which imparts a pronounced hydrophobic effect. In addition, the chemically and physically cross-linked structure of the coating reduces the free volume created by molecular chain rearrangement owing to the presence of water molecules, thereby minimizing water penetration into the coating.
