Objectives: To investigate the underlying causes and clinical manifestations in infants undergoing colonoscopy, and to analyze changes in disease spectrum.
Methods: Clinical data from 180 infants who underwent a total of 184 colonoscopies at the Department of Gastroenterology, Children's Hospital Affiliated to Shandong University from January 2015 to December 2024 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were grouped by age: ≤6 months (=41) and >6-12 months (=139); and by examination period: 2015-2019 (=83) and 2020-2024 (=97).
This study aimed to accessed the current status of the physical activity and the prevalence of comorbidity among the elderly (≥ 65 years old) in rural areas and to investigate the effect of physical activity intensity on hypertension-diabetes comorbidity in the elderly. A cross-sectional survey was conducted in Jia County, Pingdingshan, Henan Province from July 1 to August 31, 2023. A questionnaire was used to collect information on socio-demographic factors and chronic diseases, and the IPAQ (short form) to collect information about physical activity.

Aims: Oxidative stress is a central factor in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and potentially exhibits sexual dimorphism. The induction of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) serves as a crucial mechanism against reactive oxygen species toxicity in the vascular wall, and this induction is regulated by the promoter (GT)n repeat length. We aim to investigate whether or not HO-1 gene (GT)n polymorphism is associated with the occurrence of large-artery atherosclerotic (LAA) stroke.

To assess associations among fluoride exposure, the inflammation, and liver and kidney functions, a total of 1646 adults aged ≥ 18 years were recruited in cross-sectional studies conducted in 2017 and 2022 in fluorosis areas. Questionnaire surveys were administered to obtain the demographic information. Urine and blood samples were collected for determinations of urinary fluoride (UF), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), total bilirubin (TBIL), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (SCr), serum uric acid (SUA), and white blood cell (WBC) counts.

However, elder age links to an increased risk of poor outcome. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of EVT in elderly versus non-elderly patients and determine the respective factors of poor outcome.

Storage of water and carbohydrate resources is another critical function and shapes plant drought adaption and fitness together with hydraulic efficiency and vulnerability. However, patterns and implications of the interdependency of stored water and carbohydrate resources in the context of the segmentation hypothesis are poorly understood.

This study systematically assessed the performance of a newly developed solid-phase extraction (SPE) material, cellulose-supported aminated β-cyclodextrin polymer (amine-β-CDP@Cellulose), in determining 44 xenobiotics, encompassing endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), pharmaceuticals, and food additives in urine samples. The primary objective of the research was to synthesize a new sorbent, optimize the extraction protocol, and elucidate the underlying adsorption and desorption mechanisms. Following optimization, it was observed that amine-β-CDP@Cellulose achieved recoveries ranging from 80 % to 120 % for 28 of the 44 targeted xenobiotics, with only three compounds showing recoveries below 50 %.

It enhances urban quality, competitiveness, and residents' well-being. Despite extensive scholarly attention, previous research has often overlooked the integration of big data and the spatial heterogeneity inherent in urban environments.

Collateral circulation could modify the association between aICH with functional outcome and we aimed to investigate the impact of systemic inflammation index on 3-month outcome under different collateral circulation.
Method: Consecutive patients undertaken EVT were enrolled and classified into non-intracranial hemorrhage (non-ICH), aICH and symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH) groups according to the neurological status and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) changes within 72 hours after EVT.
Background: In China, nursing information systems (NIS) implementation can face numerous barriers to acceptance, including the attitudes of potential users. However, few studies have evaluated this acceptance.
Objective: The aim of this study was to explain the acceptance of NIS utilizing a survey based on unified theory of acceptance and use of technology.

While freeze-thaw cycle (FTC) can influence greenhouse gas emissions, the specific greenhouse gas that responds most strongly to FTC, as well as the underlying mechanisms, remain unclear. Here, we conducted a meta-analysis to explore the responses of global warming potential (GWP) and the fluxes of CO and NO to FTC. Our results showed that FTC treatment significantly increased GWP, NO flux, cumulative GWP, and cumulative NO emissions by 23.

Rationale: The development of analytical screening techniques for pesticides is crucial for preventing and mitigating environmental contamination. Mass spectrometry-based screening methods differ based on the complexity of the sample matrix and the diversity of the target compounds. One of the major challenges is balancing cost reduction in the extraction process with the optimization of analytical results.

This includes forming partnerships with different types of root associating microorganisms, such as arbuscular mycorrhizal and ectomycorrhizal fungi. These trade-offs, by mediating root chemistry, exert legacy effects on nutrient release during decomposition, which may, in turn, affect the ability of new roots to re-acquire resources, thereby generating a feedback loop.

The induction of heme oxygenase-1 () gene in the brain represents 1 of the pivotal mechanisms to counteract the noxious effects of reactive oxygen species, and the transcriptional modulation of induction depends on the length of a GT-repeat (GT)n in the promoter region. We investigated whether the gene (GT)n polymorphism is associated with the risk of WMHs.

Oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction are crucial mechanisms of health damage induced by fluoride. Here, a cross-sectional survey involving 907 Chinese farmers (aged 18-60) was carried out in Tongxu County in 2017, aiming to investigate the significance of mitochondrial DNA copy number (mtDNAcn) and oxidative stress in fluoride-related BMD change.

Peroxy chemicals, including peroxymonosulfate (PMS) and peroxyacetic acid (PAA), hold promise for selectively attacking specific thioether moieties. Still, it has been unclear how chemical structures affect the interactions between thioethers and peroxy chemicals.

Increased exposure to fluoride, which notably affects bone metabolism, is a global concern. However, the correlations and sensitivity of bone metabolism to fluoride remain controversial. In this cross-sectional study, 549 children (aged 7-12 years) and 504 adults (≥ 18 years old) were recruited in the high-fluoride areas of the Henan Province.
