Duloxetine, a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, has been associated with increased blood pressure and other vascular side effects. However, the mechanisms underlying these effects remain poorly understood. Voltage-dependent K (Kv) channels are key regulators of membrane potential and vascular tone in arterial smooth muscle cells.

Their expression is upregulated in response to abiotic stresses, including cold, heat, drought, and salinity, contributing to plant stress tolerance. CsRCI2E interacts with the water transport protein CsPIP2; 1, reducing its abundance at the PM under NaCl-induced stress.

Repeated chemotherapy reduces patients' quality of life. Stereotactic Ablative Radiation Therapy for Recurrent Ovarian Cancer (SABR-ROC) (KGOG3064/KROG 2204) is an ongoing trial investigating the clinical efficacy of stereotactic ablative radiation therapy (SABR) for recurrent ovarian cancer.

While its therapeutic effects have been attributed to D and 5-HT receptor antagonism and partial 5-HT agonism, its potential interactions with ion channels remain unexplored. In this study, we investigated the effects of perospirone on vascular voltage-gated K (Kv) channels in freshly isolated rabbit coronary arterial smooth muscle cells.

Encapsulated graphene plays a key role in enabling stable and functional operation of next-generation electronic and sensing devices. However, establishing electrical contact with encapsulated graphene remains a significant challenge because of the need for separate etching and metal deposition steps, which require complex multistep fabrication processes. This paper introduces a scalable one-step method for forming electrical contacts with encapsulated graphene using CO laser scribing.

Objective: This study evaluated whether treatment outcomes for endocervical adenocarcinoma differ according to treatment modality (surgery plus post-operative radiotherapy versus definitive chemoradiotherapy) and human papillomavirus (HPV) status.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 105 patients with clinical stage IIB to IIIC endocervical adenocarcinoma, classified according to the 2018 International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics staging system, who were treated with surgery plus post-operative radiotherapy or definitive chemoradiotherapy at a single institution between 2011 and 2022. HPV status was determined based on the 2020 World Health Organization classification.
(RG), a fundamental herb in traditional Chinese medicine belonging to the Orobanchaceae family, has been widely used for centuries due to its diverse therapeutic properties, including promoting blood circulation, enhancing immunity, managing diabetes, reducing inflammation, and supporting kidney function. Despite its traditional significance, scientific studies on RG's therapeutic mechanisms remain limited, and its underlying pharmacological pathways are not extensively elucidated. This study employed network pharmacology and molecular docking to identify RG's active compounds and investigate their therapeutic potential in allergy, anemia, diabetes, and menopause.

To address the challenges in efficient decoding, we propose a method that optimizes output processing through scalar multiplications, enhancing performance in generating higher-dimensional outputs. By employing on-system iterative tuning, we mitigate hardware imperfections and noise, progressively improving image reconstruction accuracy to near-digital quality.

Hypofractionated radiation therapy, which delivers higher radiation doses over fewer sessions, enhances tumor control but raises concerns about increased normal tissue toxicity. A recent Korean phase II study (POHIM-CCRT) evaluated the safety of hypofractionated intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), delivering 40 Gy in 16 fractions with weekly cisplatin following radical surgery.

However, conventional LIG-based humidity sensors employing lateral-contact configurations often exhibit limited responsivity, owing to their partially exposed structures and dominant subsurface current pathways. This study presents a novel vertical-contact architecture that utilizes vertically aligned LIG nanotips for ultra-sensitive humidity detection.

Our study aims to discover crucial gut microbiota that significantly bolster the immune response against brain tumors. Employing a murine model, we utilize 16S rRNA sequencing to analyze the evolution of gut microbiota alongside tumor progression, and we intervene with dietary adjustments using tryptophan to restore microbiota alterations.

Previous epidemiological studies have reported that maternal inflammation is linked to an increased incidence of postnatal allergy in offspring, although the underlying mechanisms remain largely unexplored. In this study, we employed a lipopolysaccharide-induced maternal inflammation murine model and found that offspring from dams with maternal immune activation (MIA) exhibited heightened allergic responses to house dust mite allergen.

However, our comprehensive analyses revealed aberrant overexpression of GAS5 in various cancers, with a direct association with SMARCA4 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Differential expression analyses were conducted using publicly available transcriptome datasets.

Methods: This phase II, non-randomized multicenter trial included 61 patients with cervical cancer who were eligible for adjuvant RT after radical hysterectomy. Participants received 40 Gy in 16 fractions using IMRT to whole pelvis.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of a high-salt diet (HSD), which is commonly found in Western countries, on the progression of glioma. Our research shows that the alterations in gut microbiota caused by an HSD facilitated the development of glioma. Mice fed an HSD have elevated levels of intestinal propionate, which accelerated the growth of glioma cells.

The inhibitory κB kinases (IKKs), particularly IKKα, are central to modulating NF-κB activity, with distinct roles in the canonical and non-canonical signaling pathways. This study investigates the potential of selectively targeting IKKα to develop novel therapeutic strategies.

Recent evidence suggest hypoxia is also closely involved in the resistance to immunotherapy. In this review, we highlight how immune cells that are essential for the maximized immunotherapy efficacy, including cytotoxic T cells, dendritic cells, and natural killer cells can adapt to tumor hypoxia.

This study investigated the vasodilatory action of tofogliflozin using rabbit femoral artery rings pre-contracted with phenylephrine (1 μM). The results showed the concentration-dependent induction of vasodilation by tofogliflozin, a response that remained unchanged following endothelial removal, pretreatment with the nitric oxide synthase inhibitor L-NAME (100 μM), or the inhibition of low- and intermediate-conductance Ca-activated K channels using apamin (1 μM) in combination with TRAM-34 (1 μM).

As many countries implement different programs aimed at eliminating malaria, attention should be given to asymptomatic carriers that may interrupt the progress. This was a community-based cross-sectional study conducted in Tanzania from December 2022 to July 2023 within 4 villages from each of the 3 regions, Geita and Kigoma, which are high malaria transmission, and Arusha, which is low transmission. Malaria was diagnosed in asymptomatic individuals aged 1 year and older using the malaria rapid diagnostic test and light microscope.
