Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of multiple digestive enzyme biomarkers in detecting and characterizing laryngopharyngeal reflux disease (LPRD).
Methods: Patients with LPRD at the 24-h hypopharyngeal-esophageal multichannel intraluminal impedance-pH testing (HEMII-pH) were consecutively recruited from January 2020 to May 2024 from two European hospitals. The control group consisted of adults without symptoms.
Objective: To investigate the demographic determinants of patient perception toward the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery care.
Methods: Outpatients consulting in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery departments of 18 hospitals were surveyed about the perception of the role of AI in health care. The results were analyzed according to the age, gender, patient use of technology, and the level of education.
Objective: To investigate the feasibility, patient tolerance, and clinical findings of the Dx-pH system for detecting nasopharyngeal reflux disease (NRD).
Methods: Patients with idiopathic and chronic nasal complaints were recruited from the European Reflux Clinic between July 2022 and July 2024. Patients underwent 24-hour nasal Dx-pH system for detecting NRD.

Our study demonstrated the prognostic potential of a new scoring system (Macroscore) based on the combination of the ratio and the sum of the high and low densities of M1 (CD80+) and M2 (CD163+) macrophages in a series of head and neck cancer patients, including a training population ( = 54) and a validation population ( = 19). Interestingly, the Macroscore outperformed TNM criteria and p16 status, showing a significant association with poor patient prognosis, and demonstrated significant predictive value for overall survival.
