this pilot study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of ChatGPT-4o in analyzing oral mucosal lesions from clinical images. : a total of 110 clinical images, including 100 pathological lesions and 10 healthy mucosal images, were retrieved from Google Images and analyzed by ChatGPT-4o using a standardized prompt. An expert panel of five clinicians established a reference diagnosis, categorizing lesions as benign or malignant.

We aim to study microaggressions and workplace culture amongst European otolaryngologist -head and neck surgeons (E-OTOHNS). The perception of "differential treatment" based on individual traits was used as a proxy for microaggressions.

The fast-track head and neck cancer pathway (FTHNCP) was implemented in 2018 in our hospital to reduce diagnostic delays and improve patient outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the FTHNCP in reducing diagnostic delays and identifying factors associated with oncological diagnoses.

This narrative review aims to provide a thorough overview of the emerging evidence that now integrates these two previously considered distinct physiologic systems. Studies published recently have reported a significantly higher frequency of olfactory dysfunction among OSA patients compared to the general population, which raises the possibility of a causal relationship.

Objectives: To investigate the correlation between laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) and psychological distress in a sample of adult Italian patients.
Methods: LPR was assessed using the Reflux Symptom Index (RSI), Reflux Finding Score (RFS), and 24-hour impedance-pH monitoring. Psychological distress was evaluated with the following clinical tools: the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A), the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAM-D), the Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R), the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), and the Perceived Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10).
Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is the sixth most common cancer globally, with HPV-positive cases emerging as a distinct subtype with unique clinical and molecular characteristics. Current diagnostic methods, including tissue biopsy and imaging, face limitations in terms of invasiveness, static disease assessment, and difficulty in distinguishing recurrence from treatment-related changes. This review aimed to assess the potential of liquid biopsy as a minimally invasive tool for the diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and surveillance of HPV-associated HNSCC.

Background: The prevalence, role, and clinical relevance of Helicobacter Pylori (HP) in sinonasal tissues of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis remain unclear.
Objective: To investigate the prevalence and clinical relevance of Helicobacter Pylori (HP) in chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) and without nasal polyps (CRSSNP).
Methods: Three investigators conducted a PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane Library systematic review of the prevalence and clinical relevance of HP infection in CRS patients through the PRISMA framework.
Objective: This study aims to evaluate the impact of prompt construction on the quality of artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot responses in the context of head and neck surgery.
Study Design: Observational and evaluative study.
Setting: An international collaboration involving 16 researchers from 11 European centers specializing in head and neck surgery.

Objective: To propose a European consensus for managing and treating laryngopharyngeal reflux disease (LPRD) to guide primary care and specialist physicians.
Methods: Twenty-three European experts (otolaryngologists, gastroenterologists, surgeons) participated in a modified Delphi process to revise 38 statements about the definition, clinical management, and treatment of LPRD. Three voting rounds were conducted on a 5-point scale and a consensus was defined a priori as agreement by 80% of the experts.
This study evaluates the quality and readability of informed consent documents generated by AI platforms ChatGPT-4 and Bard Gemini Advanced compared to those written by a first-year oral surgery resident for common oral surgery procedures. The evaluation, conducted by 18 experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeons, assessed consents for accuracy, completeness, readability, and overall quality. ChatGPT-4 consistently outperformed both Bard and human-written consents.

: Patients treated with definitive radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) develop severe dysphagia, affecting their quality of life. Traditional prognosis biomarkers are insufficient, leading to a search for new predictors like neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR). : We retrospectively enrolled 44 NPC patients who underwent definitive radiotherapy between 2010 and 2018.
