Objective: The study aimed to explore the effect of serum uric acid (SUA) level on the progression of kidney function in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients.
Methods: A total of 123 biopsy-proven lupus nephritis (LN) patients were included in this retrospective observational study. Cox proportional hazard regression analyses as well as restricted cubic spline analyses were performed to identify predictors of renal outcome in LN patients.

The control of linear/branched selectivity is one of the major focuses in transition-metal catalyzed allyl-allyl cross-coupling reactions, in which bond connection occurs at the terminal site of both the allyl fragments forming different types of 1,5-dienes. Herein, terminal/internal regioselectivity is investigated and found to be switchable in allyl-allyl cross-coupling reactions between -difluorinated cyclopropanes and allylboronates. The controlled terminal/internal regioselectivity arises from the fine-tuning of the rhodium catalytic system.

We investigated 56 consecutive NECs identified among 3961 gastrectomies performed at our center between 2005 and 2021. We then compared clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis between gastroesophageal junctional (GEJ) NECs (N=39) and gastric non-cardiac NECs (N=17).

The purpose of our study is to identify neuroimaging predictors for PI. From April 2017 to December 2020, we enrolled 86 patients with an anterior circulation subcortical infarction within 48 h after onset.

At present, models involving clinical indices that accurately predict fracture are still uncommon. We addressed this gap by developing machine learning (ML)-based predictive models to individualize the risk of fracture in elderly patients with RA and osteoporosis and to identify a high-risk group for fracture.

Objective: Blood glucose is related to early neurological deterioration in acute ischemic stroke, but multiple mechanisms are involved in early neurological deterioration, such as progressive infarction. This study aimed to determine whether fasting blood glucose (FBG) is an independent predictor of progressive infarction.
Methods: From April 2017 to December 2020, we retrospectively enrolled 477 patients with acute ischemic stroke within 48 hours of onset.
Background: Osimertinib is a recently approved third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI) that selectively inhibits both EGFR-TKI-sensitizing and EGFR-T790M resistance mutations. The aim of the present meta-analysis was to investigate the efficacy and safety of osimertinib for patients with EGFR-mutated non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Materials And Methods: Databases were searched for randomized controlled studies that reported the efficacy and safety of osimertinib versus other treatments (chemotherapy, other EGFR-TKIs, etc.
A novel quantitative optical diagnostics method for determining the threshold of soot onset in counterflow diffusion flames was proposed and demonstrated. The method was based on the proportional discrimination of trichromatic luminescence and the nonparametric and unsupervised automatic threshold selection algorithm. The macroscopic soot onset threshold in ethylene diffusion flame with three ethyl esters additions could be precisely determined.

We explored the influence of SLC43A2 on tumor immune microenvironment (TIME), immune-related genes (IRGs) and the prognosis of liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC) patients. The TCGA-LIHC dataset ( = 374) and the ICGC-LIRI-JP-LIHC ( = 231) datasets were used as training and validation cohort, respectively.

Spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) can relieve pain and promote internal and external stabilization of the lumbar spine. In this study, we investigated whether the brain alterations of LDH patients with SMT were frequency-dependent based on the calculation of Amplitude of Low-Frequency Fluctuations (ALFF) and fractional ALFF (fALFF).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA thermo-, mechano-, and vapochromic bimetallic cuprous-emissive complex has been reported, and the origin and application of its tri-stimuli-responsive luminescence have been explored. As revealed by single-crystal structure analysis, thermo- and vapochromic luminescence adjusted by heating at 60 °C and CHCN vapor fuming, accompanied by a crystalline-to-crystalline transition, is due to the breaking and rebuilding of the CHCN-Cu bond, as supported by H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), thermogravimetry (TG), and time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) analyses of the CHCN-coordinated species [Cu(μ-dppa)(μ-η(N)η(N,N)-fptz)(CHCN)](ClO)·HO () and its CHCN-removed derivative [Cu(μ-dppa)(μ-η(N)η(N,N)-fptz)](ClO)·HO (). Luminescence mechanochromism, mixed with a crystalline-to-amorphous transition where the initial crystalline is different for and , is mainly assigned as the destruction of the CHCN-Cu bonding and/or the O···HN and OH···N hydrogen bonds.

However, existing protein marker detection methods usually require complex operation steps, leading to a lag time for diagnosis. Herein, we developed a rapid, minimally invasive, and convenient nucleic acid biomarker recognition method, which enabled the combined specific detection of 11 lung cancer typing markers in a microliter reaction system after only one sampling.

Brain injury poses a heavy disease burden in the world, resulting in chronic deficits. Therapies for brain injuries have been focused on pharmacologic, small molecule, endocrine and cell-based therapies. Endogenous neural stem cells (eNSCs) are a group of stem cells which can be activated by damage, neurotrophic factors, physical factor stimulation, and physical exercise.

This research described a superhydrophobic coating based on rosin acid and SiO modified cotton fabric to overcome this challenge. By means of spray impregnation and UV-assisted click reaction, sulfhydryl modified rosin acid (RA), Octavinyl-POSS, and SiO were grafted onto the surface of cotton fabric to obtain RA-SiO superhydrophobic coating with rough surfaces such as lotus leaf and low surface energy.

Introduction: High risk of lymph node metastasis (LNM) in gastric papillary adenocarcinoma causes endoscopists to worry about the suitability of endoscopic resection for early gastric papillary adenocarcinoma (EPAC). We compared risk factors and attempted to establish a scoring system to stratify LNM risk in patients with EPAC.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 2,513 patients with early gastric carcinoma (EGC) who underwent radical resection in 4 tertiary hospitals in China.
Individuals with South Asian ancestry have a higher risk of heart disease than other groups but have been largely excluded from genetic research. Using data from 22,000 British Pakistani and Bangladeshi individuals with linked electronic health records from the Genes & Health cohort, we conducted genome-wide association studies of coronary artery disease and its key risk factors. Using power-adjusted transferability ratios, we found evidence for transferability for the majority of cardiometabolic loci powered to replicate.
