Gastric neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC), including mixed neuroendocrine-non-neuroendocrine neoplasm (MiNEN), is uncommon and differences in clinicopathological features and outcomes of NEC arising in various gastric regions remain elusive. We investigated 56 consecutive NECs identified among 3961 gastrectomies performed at our center between 2005 and 2021. We then compared clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis between gastroesophageal junctional (GEJ) NECs (N=39) and gastric non-cardiac NECs (N=17).

A novel quantitative optical diagnostics method for determining the threshold of soot onset in counterflow diffusion flames was proposed and demonstrated. The method was based on the proportional discrimination of trichromatic luminescence and the nonparametric and unsupervised automatic threshold selection algorithm. The macroscopic soot onset threshold in ethylene diffusion flame with three ethyl esters additions could be precisely determined.

Currently, fluorides and long-chain aliphatic compounds are the most frequent low surface energy chemicals utilized in the preparation of superhydrophobic coatings, but associated environmental risks and instability restrict their potential application in oil-water separation. This research described a superhydrophobic coating based on rosin acid and SiO modified cotton fabric to overcome this challenge. By means of spray impregnation and UV-assisted click reaction, sulfhydryl modified rosin acid (RA), Octavinyl-POSS, and SiO were grafted onto the surface of cotton fabric to obtain RA-SiO superhydrophobic coating with rough surfaces such as lotus leaf and low surface energy.

Call for Decision Support for High-Alert Medication Administration Among Pediatric Nurses: Findings From a Large, Multicenter, Cross-Sectional Survey in China.

The Institute for Safe Medication Practice (ISMP) defined high-alert medications (HAMs) as a group of medications that could cause significant patient harm or even death when they are used in error. Objective: To evaluate the safety, function, and cosmetic outcome of eyelid reconstruction using a xenogeneic acellular dermal matrix as a tarsal plate replacement in the repair of 50 to 100% eyelid defects following excision of large malignant tumours.

Methods: A retrospective, non-comparative, interventional study of 21 eyes was performed over 26 months. Fourteen patients were female and seven were male.
