Background: Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) leads to severe neurological deficits by disrupting brain structure and function, particularly in the sensorimotor cortex. Effective interventions to promote post-ICH brain remodeling remain limited. This study investigated the effects of transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) on structural and functional remodeling in the sensorimotor networks of rats with ICH, using multi-scale analyses spanning micro-, meso-, and macro-levels.

We aimed to systematically review cohort studies and conduct a meta-analysis to explore the relationship between occupational exposure to silica and the risk of leukemia development. We performed an exhaustive search across three databases (PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science) to identify pertinent cohort studies published since 1987.

Objective: To investigate the effectiveness of arthroscopic double fixation and enhanced suture of long head of biceps tendon (LHBT) for repairing rotator cuff tear.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 31 patients with rotator cuff tears and LHBT injuries admitted between June 2022 and November 2023. All patients underwent arthroscopic double fixation and enhanced suture of LHBT .
Organic manganese halides have gained attention as luminescent materials due to their characteristics, such as low toxicity, ease of synthesis, and high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY). This study challenges the common belief that increasing the Mn-Mn distance invariably boosts PLQY. It introduces a 3D diagram illustrating the importance of ground-state and excited-state band alignments in influencing PLQY.

Invasive populations have now colonized much of the Eastern Hemisphere, causing severe damage to a wide range of crops. However, there is still disagreement internationally on the origin and mode of invasion of fall armyworm populations, especially from the Americas to China.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: The fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda, FAW) is one of the most devastating invasive pests in the world, owing to its extraordinary migration performance. Research has clarified the migratory pathways and external environmental factors affecting FAW migration. However, the internal genes and loci regulating migration or reside in FAW remain largely unknown.

In this study, after 12 weeks of exposure to atmospheric PM (64 μg/m) and clean air in winter in Taiyuan, China, we collected liver and intestinal tissues and serum in male mice to perform toxicology experiments. The results showed that PM significantly exacerbated the pathological injury in the liver and intestine and liver fibrosis in mice, along with elevated levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) levels in the serum.

To evaluate the prevalence and genetic diversity of in black goats, we collected 539 fecal samples from nine districts in Fujian Province, China. The presence of was confirmed through nested PCR targeting the SSU rRNA gene, and genotyping was performed at the beta-giardin, glutamate dehydrogenase, and triosephosphate isomerase loci.

In this prospective study, baseline, scale, and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) data were collected from patient cohorts. Participants were stratified into favorable (0-3 points) and unfavorable (4-6 points) prognosis groups, based on Modified Rankin Scale (mRS) after 3-6 months.

Of particular interest is the potential vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) potentially offers for sustaining improvement in neurological deficits. The goal of the present study is to provide a summary of the findings from research that has been carried out to elucidate the mechanisms and demonstrate the efficacy and safety of the clinical application of VNS, as well as to identify research gaps in the field, in order to offer references for subsequent further research and application.

In this study, we collected demographic information from EGA cases and early pregnancy controls in Taiyuan, China, between 2022 and 2023 and obtained villi and serum samples from these participants. We employed multilevel mixed-effects logistic regression models to estimate the odds ratios (ORs).

Therefore, this study aimed to explore the risk of NDDs among PEH and its variation across countries and regions through meta-analysis and systematic review.
Methods: Searching from databases such as PubMed and Web of Science, relevant research articles on PEH and NDDs were identified.
The negative impact of fire smoke on human health is widely recognized. However, studies have not adequately compared subtle differences in rates of emergency department (ED) visits and hospital admissions (HA) for various diseases, nor have they grounded comparisons in differences in healthcare systems across countries. To bridge this gap, we conducted a systematic meta-analysis to assess global health risks associated with fire smoke exposure.

Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) has emerged as a promising therapeutic target to reduce lipids. In 2020, we reported a chimeric camelid-human heavy chain antibody VHH-B11-Fc targeting PCSK9. Recently, it was verified that VHH-B11 binds one linear epitope in the PCSK9 hinge region.

The question of whether China can become a creative nation has been a topic of much debate in academic circles. The Chinese government has expressed its belief that China can develop a unique form of creativity to move the country from the periphery to the center of the global creative ecosystem. This perspective has led to a series of state-led trials and experiments, including the adoption of cultural and creative industries, creative clusters and cities, and the recent maker movement.

Here, we report that zinc porphyrin, commonly used in dye-sensitized solar cells, can be self-assembled into nanorods and then coated by TiO. The J-aggregated zinc porphyrin array enables long-range exciton diffusion and allows for fast electron transfer into TiO.
