Methods: In this study, 52 patients with newly diagnosed advanced-stage DLBCL treated with R-CHOP underwent serial ctDNA analysis at baseline, interim (after three cycles), and end of treatment. The prognostic significance of ctDNA dynamics was evaluated, and its predictive value was compared with the PET/CT response.
Background/aims: This study aimed to investigate co-occurrence and clinical characteristics of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) in women hospitalized for acute pyelonephritis (APN).
Methods: This single-center retrospective study reviewed medical records of inpatients with APN from January 2019 to February 2023 and identified records of 142 patients who were referred to a gynecologist to evaluate gynecological diseases including STIs.
Results: Of the 142 patients, 47 were tested positive for sexually transmitted pathogens in nucleic acid amplification testing, confirming the presence of STIs.

Targeted gene editing to restore CD40L expression via homology-directed repair (HDR) in CD34 hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) represents a potential long-term therapy for X-linked hyper IgM syndrome. However, clinical translation of HSPC editing is limited by inefficient long-term engraftment of HDR-edited HSPCs. Background/aims: The prognostic significance of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG)-positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET/CT) in peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCLs) are controversial. First-in-class membrane stabilizer Poloxamer 188 (P188) has been shown to confer membrane protection in an extensive range of clinical conditions; however, elements of the systemic distribution and localization of P188 at the organ, tissue, and muscle fiber levels have not yet been elucidated. Here we used non-invasive fluorescence imaging to directly visualize and track the distribution and localization of P188 . In this study, we performed serial monitoring using targeted DNA sequencing to identify genetic alterations in adults with Philadelphia-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph-ALL). Deep sequencing was performed by targeting the coding regions of 45 genes with recurrent driver mutations and 1129 single nucleotide polymorphism sites. Of the 43 patients that we examined, at least one case of genetic alterations was detected in 38 (88%) of the 43 patients at diagnosis (somatic mutations in 10 patients [23%] and copy number aberrations [CNA] in 36 patients [84%]).

Secondary-type mutations (STMs), namely SRSF2, SF3B1, U2AF1, ZRSR2, ASXL1, EZH2, BCOR, and STAG2, are more frequently detected in secondary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) than in de novo AML.
