Purpose: The prognosis for heavily pretreated patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) remains poor. Teclistamab, a bispecific antibody targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and CD3, has demonstrated deep and durable responses in triple-class exposed RRMM patients in the MajesTEC-1 trial. To further evaluate the efficacy and safety of teclistamab in Korean patients, we conducted a nationwide retrospective analysis.

ALK-positive adult histiocytosis with a TFG-ALKfusion gene.

ALK-positive histiocytosis is a rare condition that can affect multiple systems in infants and adults. We identified a rare case of ALK-positive histiocytosis with fusion of the ALK gene with TFG. Prevalence and thrombotic risk of SGLT-2 inhibitor-associated erythrocytosis: a retrospective cohort study.

Background: Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT-2) inhibitors, widely used for type 2 diabetes and cardiorenal conditions, may induce erythrocytosis, potentially increasing cardiovascular risk. This study investigates its prevalence, risk factors, and thrombotic implications.

Methods: In a single-center retrospective study, we analyzed 6787 patients prescribed SGLT-2 inhibitors (2014-2024).

Real-World Comparison of Carfilzomib, Lenalidomide, and Dexamethasone Versus Ixazomib, Lenalidomide, and Dexamethasone in Patients With Relapsed/Refractory Multiple Myeloma: KMM2004 Study.

Background: Lenalidomide-based triplet regimens, specifically carfilzomib, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone (KRd) and ixazomib, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone (IRd), are recognized as effective treatments for relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM). Since 2020, South Korea's National Health Insurance Service has covered these combinations, prompting a need for real-world comparisons of their efficacy and safety.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of 182 RRMM patients treated with KRd (112) or IRd (70) at 17 South Korean centers from May 2020 to April 2021 was conducted.

Purpose: Conventional management of low-risk polycythemia vera (PV), consisting of phlebotomy and aspirin, often fails to adequately control symptoms and hematologic parameters. This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of ropeginterferon alfa-2b (Ropeg) in low-risk PV patients requiring cytoreductive therapy.

Materials And Methods: In this sub-analysis of an open-label, multicenter trial, 42 patients received Ropeg for 48 weeks.

: Medical residency programs play a crucial role in emergency departments (EDs). However, clinical processes may differ between EDs staffed with medical residents and those staffed only by attending physicians. This study aims to compare clinical process times and clinical outcomes between these two types of EDs.

Early growth response 1 as a key regulator of PD-L1 expression and immune evasion in extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma.

This study investigates the role of Early Growth Response 1 (EGR1) in extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (ENKTL) and its correlation with PD-L1 expression. Analysis of 62 ENKTL patient samples revealed that high EGR1 expression was linked to PD-L1 positivity, the immune evasion-A subtype, and early-stage disease. Although EGR1 expression was not an independent prognostic factor for overall survival, patients with higher EGR1 levels showed a trend toward better outcomes.

Materials And Methods: This prospective pilot cohort study included 100 elderly patients aged 70 and older with newly diagnosed MM who had not undergone transplantation from August 2020 to January 2022.

Results: The median age was 77 years, and 73% of patients were classified at International Staging System (ISS) stages 2 or 3.

A comparison of the outcomes of families with children aged less than 2 who received universal versus sustained nurse home visiting services in Korea: a cross-sectional study.

Objectives: This study aimed to compare maternal outcomes and the home environment between non‑vulnerable families with children under 2 receiving universal home visiting services and vulnerable families receiving sustained home visiting services.

Methods: This study was conducted in Seoul, Korea, where the country's first nurse‑led early childhood home visiting program was introduced. Purpose: This study was intended to provide basic data for reducing the career plateaus of clinical nurses.

Methods: The participants were 288 clinical nurses who worked at five hospitals, general hospitals, and tertiary hospitals in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Chungcheong provinces and had more than one year of clinical experience. The research data were collected from December 26, 2022, to April 7, 2023, using structured questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS software.

Introduction: Fatty degeneration of the vertebral bodies and paravertebral muscles is associated with the presence, severity, and prognosis of spinal disease such as intervertebral disc degeneration. Therefore, the fat fraction (FF) of the vertebral bodies and paraspinal muscles has been considered a potential biomarker for assessing the pathophysiology, progression, and treatment response of spinal disease. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) is considered the reference standard for fat quantification; however, it has limitations of a long acquisition time and is technically demanding.

Analysis of Fatty Acid Compositions and Acid Values of Krill Oil Supplementary Products from the Korean Market.

In order to provide the qualitative data for the 20 commercially available krill oil supplementary products, the levels of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) such as docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), fatty acid compositions, and chemical indices, including acid values, of the supplements, were determined. The acid values ranged from 7.4 to 43.
