Platelets are vital in many pathophysiological processes, yet there is a lack of a comprehensive resource dedicated specifically to platelet research. To fill this gap, we have developed PlateletBase, a knowledge base aimed at enhancing the understanding and study of platelets and related diseases. Our team retrieved information from various public databases, specifically extracting and analyzing RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) data from 3711 samples across 41 different conditions available on the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).

Selective screening of the population based on NSCLC risk is an effective technique for minimising overdiagnosis and overtreatment. Platelets and the components can be used as liquid-biopsy markers, potentially assessing the risk of NSCLC, which are easily deployed in clinical applications. Platelet RNA sequencing datasets were analysed to identify specific genes derived from NSCLC patients and healthy donors.

This was a multicenter retrospective cohort analysis. The study included 528 patients diagnosed with primary lung adenocarcinoma and 528 randomly selected control group patients who were admitted to the Chengdu Fifth People's Hospital from January 2021 to September 2023.

We utilised sequencing and clinical data from GEO, TCGA and the Xena platform, building a risk model based on genetic features. TCGA and GSE37745 served as training cohorts, while GSE50081, GSE13213, GSE30129 and GSE42127 were validation cohorts.

Methods: This was a single-center retrospective cohort analysis. Subjects were stage I-III CRC patients hospitalized in Sichuan Cancer Hospital from January 2017 to May 2021.
Esophageal squamous cell cancer (ESCC) is a disease with a male predominance. Accordingly, the applicability of prognostic indicators values previously set for the general population with ESCC has not been reported for determining the physical state in females. Patients with ESCC were pooled from 2009 to 2017 at Sichuan Cancer Hospital.

Accurate identification of fever caused by infection could avoid unnecessary antibiotic treatment and hospitalization. This study evaluated the diagnostic value of procalcitonin (PCT), C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-10 (IL-10), and other commonly used inflammatory markers in suspected infected adult cancer patients with fever, for better use of antibiotics.

NOD1 and NOD2 are cytoplasmic receptors that can initiate the initial immune response by sensing bacterial components or danger signals. In this study, we investigated the immunopathological roles of IFN-γ and NOD1, 2 ligands iE-DAP/MDP on the activation of fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS) in RA.

As early diagnosis of neonatal sepsis improves prognosis, identification of new or complementary biomarkers is of great importance. In this study, we have evaluated the diagnostic value of progranulin (PGRN) in early-onset neonatal sepsis (EOS) and compare its effectiveness with other commonly used biomarkers, such as procalcitonin (PCT) and C-reactive protein (CRP).

Growing evidence shows that uncontrolled immune response results in severe tissue damage and thereby promotes death in coinfection. Progranulin (PGRN) is widely expressed in immune and epithelial cells and exerts anti-inflammatory role in many diseases.
