Background: Bilateral hip disorder is a common finding that can occur in approximately 42% of the population with osteoarthritis. It is estimated that 25% individuals with osteoarthritis requiring total hip replacement (THR) may require a bilateral replacement. This has resulted in the test of the greatest strategy to run single staged bilateral hip replacement while addressing the outcomes to achieve swift and cost-effective patient recovery.

Background: Treatment of relapse/refractory multiple myeloma (MM) is complex and requires consideration of disease, patients related factors and front-line treatment used. We aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of salvage regimens in symptomatic MM patients.

Methods: We evaluated records of relapse/refractory MM patients treated between 2014 and 2019.

Prostate cancer (PCa) diagnosis remains challenging due to overlapping clinical features with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and limitations of existing diagnostic tools like PSA tests, which yield high false-positive rates. This study investigates the potential of microRNA (miRNA) biomarkers, analyzed via reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and machine learning (ML), to enhance diagnostic accuracy. miRNAs such as miR-21-5p, miR-141-3p, and miR-221-3p were identified as significant discriminators between PCa and BPH through a prospective cohort study.

T his study is aimed at developing and evaluating matrix-type transdermal patches of ranolazine (Rn) to enhance its bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy in chronic angina pectoris. Patches were formulated using the mercury substrate method with polymers such as ethyl cellulose, HPMC, PMMA, and sodium alginate. Among the twelve formulations, F6 was optimized based on physical and other performance parameters.

Implant-supported overdentures have become a widely accepted treatment modality for edentulous patients, offering enhanced retention, stability and comfort compared to conventional complete dentures. Hence, a total of 78 standardized specimens were fabricated and divided into three groups (n = 26 each): Group A (heat-cured PMMA), Group B (CAD/CAM milled resin) and Group C (3D-printed resin). Group B exhibited the lowest surface roughness (0.

Introduction: Geriatric assessment is recommended for all older patients with cancer planned for treatment, but time and expertise required limit its use in routine oncology clinics. Screening tools help identify patients requiring complete geriatric assessment and also predict adverse outcomes. Our study aims to compare a culturally appropriate tool developed in India: SCreening for Older PErson with Cancer (SCOPE-C), Version 1, which helps triaging patients for treatment with other frequently used screening tools.

Aim: Microbial assessment of internal recess of two different internal implant connections in an in vivo study.

Study Settings And Design: This randomized, in vivo study included 40 patients requiring mandibular single-tooth implant-supported prostheses, allocated into two equal groups based on implant connection design.

Materials And Methods: Group Internal Hex (IH) and group Conical Connection (CC) received implants with IH and CC, respectively.

Infertility is not only a gynecological problem but also a psychological issue that holds significant social and cultural value for women. Women facing challenges in conceiving often struggle with emotional and psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety, and stress. Infertile women are more likely to develop mental illnesses due to various etiological factors, which also impact their quality of life (QOL).

T cells are essential for tumor immunosurveillance and disease regulation in Multiple Myeloma (MM), but their role in disease pathogenesis is not well understood. To investigate this, we analyzed T cell subsets for activation status, relative distribution of naïve and memory T cell populations, regulatory T cells (Tregs), and circulating follicular helper T cells (cT) in the peripheral blood of 40 newly diagnosed MM (NDMM) patients. We also assessed inhibitory receptor expression CD160, ICOS/CD278, CD152/CTLA-4, and PD-1/CD279 on T cells in peripheral blood.

Introduction: Exosomes, which are vesicles that are naturally derived and contain a biomolecular payload, are promising vehicles for melanoma therapy because of their biocompatibility, targeting capabilities, and stability. This review emphasizes their capacity to circumvent the constraints of conventional treatments.

Methods: We carried out a comprehensive search of PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar for peer-reviewed articles published between 2015 and 2024 utilizing terms such as "exosomes," "melanoma," and "chemotherapy.

Background: The role of intestinal mesentery and the extent of its resection as a determinant of outcomes post-bowel resection in Crohn's disease (CD) remains a subject of debate. We evaluated outcomes of conventional mesenteric resection (CMR) and compared it with extended mesenteric resection (EMR) in patients undergoing ileo-colic excision for limited ileo-colonic CD.

Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines using Medline, Embase, PubMed, and Cochrane databases.

Background: Measurable residual disease (MRD) is becoming a cornerstone in the multiple myeloma (MM) management; however, its implementation in India faces several challenges. This Delphi survey aimed to gather expert consensus on the current practices, and barriers in MRD monitoring in MM in India.

Methods: A 3-round Delphi process (2 e-surveys and 1 in-person meeting) was conducted with hematologists, pathologists, and oncologists managing MM in India.

Introduction And Hypothesis: This study is aimed at comparing success rate, maximum flow rate (Q), and post-void residual volume (PVR) between the buccal mucosal graft (BMG) and vaginal wall graft (VWG) through a meta-analysis of studies commonly performed by urogynecologists.

Methods: A systematic review was performed in April 2024, including retrospective, prospective, and comparative studies excluding duplicates, review, editorial comments, case reports, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and therapeutic indications. Heterogeneity in the meta-analysis was assessed using I statistics.

To downstage the locally advanced or inoperable oral cancer, neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) is required. Early response assessment to chemoradiotherapy is needed to avoid unnecessary treatment in patients who are nonresponders. We conducted a prospective study to evaluate the role of diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) in predicting the response after NACT in locally advanced carcinoma of oral cavity.

The accurate quantification of nucleic acid-based biomarkers, including long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), messenger RNAs (mRNAs), and microRNAs (miRNAs), is essential for disease diagnostics and risk assessment across the biological spectrum. Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR) is the gold standard assay for the quantitative measurement of RNA expression levels, but its reliability depends on selecting stable reference targets for normalization. Yet, the lack of consensus on a universally accepted reference gene for a given sample type or species, despite being necessary for accurate quantification, presents a challenge to the broad application of such biomarkers.

Introduction: The laparoscopic (lap) technique is well-established for the repair of vesicovaginal fistula (VVF). However, its main limitation is a lack of expertise in intracorporeal suturing. This retrospective study presents a lap VVF repair using Kumar's knotless technique with V-Loc™ (Medtronic, MN, USA) barbed suture and compares its results with the open VVF repair technique.
