Objective: This study aims to elucidate the role of SB in inhibiting CRC progression by targeting CAFs and elucidating the underlying mechanisms.
Methods: In this study, a spontaneous CRC model induced by AOM/DSS was used to evaluate the effects of SB on CAFs. Mice were treated with SB, and tumor burden was assessed by colon length.
Background: Patients with colorectal cancer commonly experience disturbances in coagulation homeostasis. Activation of the coagulation system contributes to cancer-associated thrombosis as the second risk factor for death in cancer patients. This study intended to discover coagulation-related genes and construct a risk model for colorectal cancer patients' prognosis.

Background And Aims: Mounting evidence highlights a strong association between chronic pancreatitis (CP) and type 2 diabetes (T2D), although the exact mechanism of interaction remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the crosstalk genes and pathogenesis between CP and T2D.
Methods: Transcriptomic gene expression profiles of CP and T2D were extracted from Gene Expression Omnibus, respectively, and the common differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were subsequently identified.
Background And Aims: The annual incidence of early-onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC) is increasing at an alarming rate. The prognosis of EOCRC remains controversial, and whether the early onset is a risk factor for colorectal cancer remains unclear.
Methods: We searched four electronic bibliographic databases from database inception to April 25, 2022 for studies that included both early- and later-onset patients and performed a prognostic analysis.
Introduction: Biochar (BC) and nitrogen (N) application have the potential to increase grain yield and resource use efficiency in intercropping systems. However, the effects of different levels of BC and N application in these systems remain unclear. To address this gap, the study is intended to ascertain the impact of various combinations of BC and N fertilizer on the performance of maize-soybean intercropping and determine the optimum application of BC and N for maximizing the effect of the intercropping system.

Background & Aims: Many studies have revealed crucial roles of the gut microbiota and its metabolites in liver disease progression. However, the mechanism underlying their effects on liver ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury remain largely unknown. Here, we investigate the function of gut microbiota and its metabolites in liver I/R injury.

Meta analysis was used to quantitatively analyze the impact of biochar on the yield of staple crops in China and its influencing factors. Meanwhile, a structural equation model (SEM) was constructed to further explain the interaction among the factors.

Pachymic acid (PA), a natural triterpenoid, possesses the capacity to repress inflammatory and profibrotic responses. However, the role of PA in pancreatic fibrosis remains unclear. Here the effect of PA on anti-fibrogenic response was investigated using in vivo and in vitro pancreatitis models.

Background: There is no consensus on whether triplet regimen is better than doublet regimen in the first-line treatment of advanced gastric cancer (AGC). We aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of oxaliplatin plus capecitabine (XELOX) and epirubicin, oxaliplatin, plus capecitabine (EOX) regimens in treating AGC.
Methods: This phase III trial enrolled previously untreated patients with AGC who were randomly assigned to receive the XELOX or EOX regimen.
Gallbladder carcinoma (GBC) is one of the most common carcinomas of the biliary tract and is associated with aggressive malignancy and poor prognosis. Current therapeutic strategies, including surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, are not sufficient for the treatment of GBC, and new therapeutic strategies are urgently needed. The antitumor effects of oroxylin A (OrA), a natural flavonoid extracted from the dried roots of medicinal plants such as Scutellariae species (Radix Scutellariae), have been widely reported in various cancers.

However, the role of this protein-coding gene in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has rarely been investigated. In this study, we demonstrated that MYEOV was higher expressed in tumor tissues compared with adjacent normal pancreas tissues (ANPTs) both in mRNA and protein levels.

Aim: To assess the prevalence and factors associated with post-ERCP pancreatitis (PEP) in a Chinese pediatric population.
Methods: Sixty-six children who underwent ERCP between March 2018 and March 2019 at Shanghai Children's Medical Center were retrospectively recruited for the study.
Background: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) has been widely used in pediatric patients with cholangiopancreatic diseases.
Aim: To evaluate the efficacy, safety, and long-term follow-up results of ERCP in symptomatic pancreaticobiliary maljunction (PBM).
Methods: A multicenter, retrospective study was conducted on 75 pediatric patients who were diagnosed with PBM and underwent therapeutic ERCP at three endoscopy centers between January 2008 and March 2019.

Background: In recent years, long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been shown to be a novel class of regulators of cancer biological processes. Although lncRNAs are dysregulated in numerous cancer types, limited data are available on the expression profiles and potential functions of lncRNAs in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). This study evaluated the expression and biological roles of lncRNA SOX21 antisense RNA 1 (SOX21-AS1) in LUAD.

Cancer cells adapt to chronic stress in the tumor microenvironment by inducing the expression of glucose-regulated protein 78 (GRP78), a major endoplasmic reticulum chaperone with Ca(2+)-binding and antiapoptotic properties. The effect in and potential role of its expression in progression of and prognosis for gastric cancer (GC) are unclear. In the present study, we investigated the clinical value of GRP78 expression in judgment of the severity of and prognosis for GC in a retrospective cohort study of 160 patients who underwent D2 radical gastrectomy and adjuvant chemotherapy.
