Two series of germacrane-type sesquiterpene lactones were produced by semisynthetic modulation of scaberol C, which was prepared by a standard chemical transformation from an extract. Their inhibition activities against non-small-cell lung cancer cells were screened, and preliminary structure-activity relationships were also established. The present study aimed to explore the association of plasma neurofilament light chain (NfL) levels with depression and anxiety in Parkinson's disease (PD). This prospective study enrolled 116 patients with PD and 38 healthy controls, and found plasma NfL levels were higher in patients with depression or anxiety than in those without these symptoms. Binary logistic regression identified NfL concentration as an independent predictor of depression and anxiety in PD.
