Superlattices (SLs) based on two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals (vdW) materials, abbreviated as 2D-SLs, have garnered significant attention due to their customizable properties. 2D-SLs can be engineered by mechanical stacking or chemical intercalation to achieve diverse forms of symmetry breaking, resulting in exotic phenomena like the quantum anomalous Hall effect and topological magnetism. Hitherto, broken symmetries in 2D-SLs have been widely produced within lateral planes or three dimensions.

The normal development of ovarian follicles, characterized by oocyte growth and granulosa cell proliferation, is essential for maintaining female fertility. Elevated oxidative stress, resulting from various in vivo and in vitro factors, significantly impairs follicular development, ovulation, and overall female fertility. , a naturally occurring iridoid terpenoid compound, exhibits multiple beneficial properties, including anti-hyperlipidemic, anti-diabetic, and antioxidant effects.

However, their practical application is hindered by severe side reactions and uncontrolled dendrite formation, leading to rapid capacity degradation. Herein, we develop a Zn powder-based anode (ZnSn@ZP) with a Zn-Sn metal interface layer, fabricated a simple electrodeposition strategy, to achieve uniform Zn deposition/stripping.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) have emerged as a promising energy storage solution owing to their intrinsic safety, low cost, environmental friendliness, and high theoretical specific capacity. However, their practical application is hindered by uncontrollable dendrite growth and side reactions at the zinc metal anode. To address these challenges, a simple and cost-effective electrodeposition strategy is proposed to construct a quaternary Zn-Cu-Sn-Bi alloy artificial interface layer on zinc foil (ZCSB@Zn) as the anode of AZIBs.

Purpose: Accurate assessment of human epidermal growth factor receptor type 2 (HER2) expression is crucial for diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring of breast cancer patients. A Ga-labeled tracer based on the albumin-binding domain-derived affinity protein 6 (ADAPT6) was developed to evaluate HER2 expression in breast cancer.
Methods: The gene encoding ADAPT6 was modified with N-terminal (GHEHEHEDANS) and C-terminal (GSSC) extensions to enhance its functionality.

Patients And Methods: Between February 2022 to February 2023, a total of 136 patients (49 males, 87 females; mean age: 76.4±9.
Objective: In this prospective observational cohort study, we aim to investigate the risk factors for early postoperative anastomotic leakage (AL) in patients undergoing rectal cancer resection.
Methods: This study included 459 patients with rectal cancer who underwent treatment at our hospital from January 2021 to October 2022. All patients were hospitalized for 1 week postoperatively and observed for the occurrence of AL.
Background: Postoperative delirium is a common and significant consequence in patients with type A aortic dissection following surgery; however, there is currently no effective postoperative care plan.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate the practical implementation of a stratified nursing intervention program for postoperative delirium in patients undergoing surgery for Stanford type A aortic dissection.
Methods: A stratified nursing intervention program for postoperative delirium was created using a literature review, group discussions, and the Delphi method via expert mail inquiry.
CaSiO[Formula: see text] perovskite (CaPv) is the last major mineral in the Earth's lower mantle whose elasticity remains largely unresolved. Here, we investigate the elasticity of CaPv using ab initio machine-learning force fields (MLFF). At room temperature, the elasticity of tetragonal CaPv determined by MLFF molecular dynamics (MD) agrees well with experimental measurements after considering temperature induced variations in the hydrostatic structure, proving the effectiveness of the method.

This paper explores the evolution of geoscientific inquiry, tracing the progression from traditional physics-based models to modern data-driven approaches facilitated by significant advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and data collection techniques. Traditional models, which are grounded in physical and numerical frameworks, provide robust explanations by explicitly reconstructing underlying physical processes. However, their limitations in comprehensively capturing Earth's complexities and uncertainties pose challenges in optimization and real-world applicability.

Fumonisin B1 (FB1), a mycotoxin produced by species, is prevalent in crops and animal feed, posing significant health risks to livestock and humans. FB1 induces oxidative stress in Sertoli cells, destroys testicular structure, and affects spermatogenesis. However, methods to mitigate the reproductive toxicity of FB1 in testes remain unknown.

The Global Burden of Disease, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD) data enables the first insights into the trends and burdens of these metabolic diseases from 1990 to 2021, highlighting regional, temporal and differences by sex.
Methods: Global estimates of disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) and deaths from GBD 2021 were analyzed for common metabolic diseases (T2DM, hypertension, obesity, hypercholesterolemia, and MASLD).
The complex etiological factors associated with metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), including perturbed iron homeostasis, and the unclear nature by which they contribute to disease progression have resulted in a limited number of effective therapeutic interventions. Here, we report that patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a pathological subtype of MAFLD, exhibit excess hepatic iron and that it has a strong positive correlation with disease progression. FerroTerminator1 (FOT1) effectively reverses liver injury across multiple MASH models without notable toxic side effects compared with clinically approved iron chelators.

This will inform subsequent revisions of ICD-11.
Methods: Using the Qualtrics XM and WJX platforms, questionnaires were sent online to MAFLD-ICD-11 coding collaborators, authors of papers, and relevant association members.
Realizing room-temperature magnetic skyrmions in two-dimensional van der Waals ferromagnets offers unparalleled prospects for future spintronic applications. However, due to the intrinsic spin fluctuations that suppress atomic long-range magnetic order and the inherent inversion crystal symmetry that excludes the presence of the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction, achieving room-temperature skyrmions in 2D magnets remains a formidable challenge. In this study, we target room-temperature 2D magnet FeGaTe and unveil that the introduction of iron-deficient into this compound enables spatial inversion symmetry breaking, thus inducing a significant Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction that brings about room-temperature Néel-type skyrmions with unprecedentedly small size.

However, despite extensive efforts, the origin of the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) in Fe GeTe remains elusive, making it challenging to acquire these skyrmionic phases in a controlled manner. In this study, it is demonstrated that the Fe content in Fe GeTe has a profound effect on the crystal structure, DMI, and skyrmionic phase.

Some studies have shown that cytokeratin-18 (CK-18) concentrations may be useful in diagnosing NASH, but results across studies have been inconsistent. We aimed to identify the utility of CK-18 M30 concentrations as an alternative to liver biopsy for non-invasive identification of NASH.
