Printing paper represents one of the most prevalent forms of physical evidence in document forensics, where accurate brand and model identification provides critical investigative leads. To enable rapid, precise identification of commercial printing paper brands, we propose a novel method combining 3D fluorescence spectroscopy with an enhanced ResNet34 network. First, 3D fluorescence contour maps of diverse paper brands were acquired across excitation (280-420 nm) and emission (300-592 nm) wavelengths.

To realize the region determination and accurate location of cable partial discharge, this paper proposes a cable partial discharge double-end location technique based on frequency-domain reflectometry. The cable partial discharge double-end location technique based on frequency-domain reflectometry mainly includes the frequency band modulation technique and partial discharge location method. The frequency band modulation technique determines the effective frequency band range of the acquired cable transfer function through the frequency band range of the partial discharge signals measured at both ends, which ensures the reliability of the transfer function.

We found that these modifications are most effective when positioned at the internucleotide linkages 6-7 from the 5'-end of the guide strand.

Arrhythmias, especially ventricular arrhythmias (VAs), are the primary cause of mortality following myocardial infarction (MI) and are typically attributable to electrophysiological disorders of the heart. Our previous work demonstrated that knockdown ameliorates arrhythmias by modulating Nav1.5 and Kir6.

In this study, we used the hybrid progeny (150 days of age) of two wild populations of R. philippinarum in northern China (Dalian and Weihai) as samples to preliminarily explore the growth heterosis.

Background: Temozolomide (TMZ) resistance is a significant challenge in treating glioblastoma (GBM). Collagen remodeling has been shown to be a critical factor for therapy resistance in other cancers. This study aimed to investigate the mechanism of TMZ chemoresistance by GBM cells reprogramming collagens.

Thus, the separation of cathode and anode materials is a crucial step in the recycling process. The separation efficiency of cathode and anode materials under the two pretreatment methods of oxygen-free roasting and water soaking was analyzed by testing and calculation.

The programming of clinical deep brain stimulation (DBS) systems involves numerous combinations of stimulation parameters, such as stimulus amplitude, pulse width, and frequency. As more complex electrode designs, such as directional electrodes, are introduced, the traditional trial-and-error approach to manual DBS programming becomes increasingly impractical. Visualization of the volume of tissue activated (VTA) can assist in selecting stimulation parameters by showing the direct effects of DBS on neural tissue.

Background: There are limited data on clinical outcomes and prognosis factors for bullous pemphigoid (BP) at long-term follow-up.
Objective: We aimed to investigate the clinical outcomes and prognostic factors in BP patients.
Methods: This retrospective study was performed between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2023 in Shandong Province, China.
Background: Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is used in the prognostication of multiple malignancies. However, the NLR value in glioblastoma (GBM) is controversial. This controversy may be due to the unaccounted effect of dexamethasone on NLR.

To monitor the root growth status of cabbage seedlings during their growth period, this study proposes a new network architecture called Swin-Unet++. This architecture integrates the Swin-Transformer module and residual networks and uses attention mechanisms to replace traditional convolution operations for feature extraction.

On account of the extreme settings, stealing the black-box model without its training data is difficult in practice. On this topic, along the lines of data diversity, this paper substantially makes the following improvements based on our conference version (dubbed STDatav1, short for Surrogate Training Data). First, to mitigate the undesirable impacts of the potential mode collapse while training the generator, we propose the joint-data optimization scheme, which utilizes both the synthesized data and the proxy data to optimize the surrogate model.

Background And Aims: Members of the CCN matricellular protein family are crucial in various biological processes. This study aimed to characterize vascular cell-specific effects of CCN5 on neointimal formation and its role in preventing in-stent restenosis (ISR) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Methods: Stent-implanted porcine coronary artery RNA-seq and mouse injury-induced femoral artery neointima single-cell RNA sequencing were performed.
The adsorption of common anions found in water can have a considerable impact on the surface state and optical characteristics of titanium dioxide (TiO), which has an important impact on the photocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR). This work utilizes density functional theory (DFT) computations to examine the electronic and optical characteristics of the TiO (001) surface under various anion adsorptions in order to clarify their influence on the photocatalytic NRR of TiO. The modifications in the structure, optical, and electronic properties of TiO before and after anion adsorption are investigated.

This study examines how peripheral immune cells, inferred genetically, affect CRC and investigates the intermediary roles of metabolites.
Methods: We employed a two-sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) approach to assess the causal influence of immune cells on CRC.

In this paper, a ratiometric fluorescent probe (Dye@Eu-MOFs) based on a dye-functionalized metal-organic framework was designed to detect VOCs, which showed high sensitivity and specificity for acetaldehyde solution and vapor. A linear correlation between the integrated fluorescence intensity (I/I) and the concentration of acetaldehyde was investigated, enabling a quantitative analysis of acetaldehyde in the ranges of 1 × 10~10 μL/mL, with a low detection limit of 8.

However, the mechanisms that dampen ZBP1 activation to fine-tune inflammatory responses are unclear. Here, we characterize a short isoform of ZBP1 (referred to as ZBP1-S) as an intrinsic suppressor of the inflammatory signaling mediated by full-length ZBP1.
