Therapeutic Effects of Alkaloids on Influenza: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Preclinical Studies.

Experimental evidence suggests that alkaloids have anti-influenza and anti-inflammatory effects. However, the risk of translating existing evidence into clinical practice is relatively high. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of animal studies to evaluate the therapeutic effects of alkaloids in treating influenza, providing valuable references for future studies.

Association of brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity with subclinical diabetic peripheral neuropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Aim: Subclinical diabetic peripheral neuropathy (sDPN) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus is insidious, but has been complicated with neurological damage. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) and sDPN in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, and to provide reference for clinical prevention and treatment of sDPN.

Materials And Methods: From November 2021 to May 2024, a total of 711 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients without symptoms and signs of peripheral nerve damage were recruited.

The Relationship Between Co-rumination and Depressive Symptoms: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Numerous studies have explored the link between co-rumination and depressive symptoms, but a consensus remains elusive. This study proposes a dual-pathway model to explain this relationship through a "positive path" (adaptive response) and a "negative path" (distress response). It also conducts a meta-analysis to evaluate the exact association between co-rumination and depressive symptoms in children, adolescents, and young adults.

Neuroendoscopic surgery for brainstem hemorrhage: Technical notes and preliminary clinical results.

Background: Brainstem hemorrhage accounts for a relatively small proportion of spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhages (∼10 %) but tends to occur earlier in life and has poorer prognosis. Numerous studies support the therapeutic potential of minimally invasive hematoma evacuation for intracerebral hemorrhage; however, there have been few assessments of the benefits for brainstem hemorrhage.

Background: Thrombosis is a serious condition in children and neonates. However, the risk factors for thrombosis have not been conclusively determined. This study aimed to identify the risk factors for thrombosis in children and neonates in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) through a meta-analysis to better guide clinical treatment.

In observational studies, herbal prescriptions are usually studied in the form of "similar prescriptions". At present, the classification of prescriptions is mainly based on clinical experience judgment, but there are some problems in manual judgment, such as lack of unified criteria, labor consumption, and difficulty in verification. In the construction of a database of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine for the treatment of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19), our research group tried to classify real-world herbal prescriptions using a similarity matching algorithm.

Effect of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation on bone loss for patients with foot and ankle fracture: a pragmatic randomized controlled trial.

Objective: The aim for this trial was to preliminarily evaluate the effectiveness and safety of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) for bone loss in patients with immobilization after surgical fixation of ankle and foot fractures.

Methods: A total of 80 patients with immobilization after surgical fixation of ankle and foot fractures were randomly divided into an intervention group (n=40) or control group (n=40). The intervention group was given TEAS treatment combined with routine orthopedic treatment, and the control group was given only routine orthopedic treatment.

Surgical resection for patients with recurrent or metastatic gastrointestinal stromal tumors: a protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis update.

Background: There are limited data on the clinical benefits of adding surgical resection in patients with recurrent or metastatic gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs). Background: Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) may improve the prognosis management of cholelithiasis patients after gallbladder-preserving lithotripsy. To explore the evidence for this view, we systematically reviewed the efficacy and safety of TCM for improving the prognosis of cholelithiasis after gallbladder-preserving lithotripsy and performed functional pathway enrichment analysis of TCM target genes.

Based on a questionnaire survey of clinicians and a systematic review of study literatures on Antiviral Oral Liquid, the international clinical practice guidelines development method was adopted to analyze the optimal available evidences and expert experiences in the "evidence-based, consensus-based and experience-based" principles.

Effect of electro-acupuncture at ST 36 on maternal food restriction-induced lung phenotype in rat offspring.

Maternal food restriction (MFR) during pregnancy leads to pulmonary dysplasia in the newborn period and increases susceptibility to diseases, such as asthma and chronic lung disease, later in life. Previous studies have shown that maternal electro-acupuncture (EA) applied to "Zusanli" (ST 36) could prevent the abnormal expression of key lung developmental signaling pathways and improve the lung morphology and function in perinatal nicotine exposed offspring. There is a significant overlap in lung developmental signaling pathways affected by perinatal nicotine exposure and MFR during pregnancy; however, whether maternal EA at ST 36 also blocks the MFR-induced lung phenotype is unknown.
