Background And Objective: Robot-assisted tumor thrombectomy (RATT) for level III inferior vena cava (IVC) tumor thrombus is an emerging but complex approach with limited reports. Variability in docking strategies, renal artery management, surgical exposure, and vascular control complicates adoption. We evaluated the safety, feasibility, and outcomes of RATT for level III IVC using a single-docking technique.

Robotic partial nephrectomy is a standard procedure in urology, but its widespread use is limited by the high cost and technical constraints of current systems. New robotic systems are being developed to enhance affordability and accessibility, expanding the availability of advanced robotic surgery to a broader range of healthcare facilities and patients. This study evaluates the feasibility and safety of the Toumai system in partial nephrectomy, examining its advanced features and their potential impact on surgical precision and operational efficiency.

Robot-assisted surgery has transformed urology, but widespread adoption remains limited by the high cost, complex setup, and rigid system design. This prospective single-center study evaluates the safety and efficacy of the novel modular Carina in 19 upper and lower urinary tract surgeries. All cases were completed robotically without conversion, with one major complication.

Renal anastomotic hemangioma (AH) is a rare, benign vascular tumor with unique histopathological features, a disease that is clinically rare, and existing clinical cases offer different treatment options. As reported in the text, this is a very unusual case of renal AH with AH secondary to residual renal tissue after renal clear cell carcinoma, describing a rare renal AH and a history of renal clear cell carcinoma, including ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. However, the available imaging data and the literature do not provide an effective basis for the diagnosis of the disease, raising the lack of understanding and misdiagnosis, where the patient eventually underwent nephrectomy, but the author is not the most appropriate surgical treatment.

Purpose: Accurate differentiation of benign renal lesions from renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is crucial for optimized management, particularly for small renal lesions (≤4 cm in diameter). This study aimed to integrate clinical data, radiomic features, and deep features to improve diagnostic performance in distinguishing benign renal lesions from RCC.

Methods: In this retrospective study, radiomic and deep scores were constructed using the AutoGluon-Tabular classifier based on radiomic and deep features extracted from the whole region of CT imaging.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the effects of left renal vein ligation on kidney function after the removal of the segmental inferior vena cava and right kidney, a topic that hasn't been thoroughly researched.
  • A review of 28 patients revealed that although some experienced temporary kidney issues post-surgery, many recovered, particularly highlighting the relationship between the size of the left renal vein and the need for kidney replacement therapy.
  • Overall, the findings suggest that this surgical procedure is feasible and does not significantly impair long-term kidney function, and measurements of the left renal vein can help predict postoperative kidney support needs.

To evaluate the efficacy and safety of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) combined with gastric coronary vein embolization (GCVE) for cirrhotic portal hypertensive variceal bleeding and compare outcomes of first-line with second-line treatment, coil with glue, and single-covered with double stents. Fifteen patients received TIPS plus GCVE as the first-line treatment for secondary prophylaxis of variceal bleeding, and 45 received it as second-line treatment. Preoperative and postoperative quantitative variables were compared using a paired t test.

Budd-Chiari syndrome is a complex clinical disorder of hepatic venous outflow obstruction, originating from the accessory hepatic vein (HV), large HV, and suprahepatic inferior vena cava (IVC). This disorder includes both HV and IVC obstructions and hepatopathy. This study aimed to conduct a systematic review of the survival rate and clinical success of different types of endovascular treatments for Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS).

This study was performed to evaluate the outcome of endovascular intervention therapy for Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) and compare recanalization, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS)/direct intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (DIPS), and combined procedure treatment. For the meta-analysis, 71 studies were identified by searching four databases. The individual studies' samples were used to calculate a confidence interval (CI 95%), and data were pooled using a fixed-effect model and random effect model.

Objective: We aimed to examine the performance of the distress thermometer (DT) and identify the prevalence and risk factors associated with psychological distress (PD) in heterogeneous cancer patients.

Methods: This cross-sectional study enrolled 1496 heterogeneous cancer patients from the inpatient and outpatient departments. Receiver operating characteristic analysis (ROC) of DT was evaluated against the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale-Total (HADS-T ≥15).

Introduction: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is responsible for the global spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Our understanding of the impact this virus has on the nervous system is limited. Our review aims to inform and improve decision-making among the physicians treating COVID-19 by presenting a systematic analysis of the neurological manifestations experienced within these patients.

Both cadmium (Cd) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are known reproductive toxicants, but their co-exposure and interaction effect on semen quality particularly in nonsmokers remain unknown. We included 333 nonsmoking men and analyzed their urine and semen samples for heavy metals and PAH metabolites. Restricted cubic spline models were used to explore the dose-response relationship between each OH-PAHs, Cd, and semen quality parameters; the generalized linear model was performed to examine the interaction of each urinary OH-PAH metabolite and Cd concentration on semen quality.

Chromium is an essential element that is required for the normal physiology but can be toxic to humans above a certain level. In spite of growing interest in research on chromium exposure to human health consensus about its effect on human, semen quality has not been achieved. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the impact of chromium exposure on semen parameters.

Traumatic penis amputation is a urological emergency. Although repair techniques have been well described in literature, failure of replantation and its causes are poorly understood and reported. The aim of this study is to evaluate the treatment and prognosis of microsurgical replantation of penile amputation with a relative long-term ischemia, and review related literatures to summarize relevant clinical experiences.

There is an ongoing debate on the declining semen quality, and unfortunately, existing evidence is inconclusive and inconsistence. We evaluated the impact of sociodemographic characteristics, lifestyle, medical history and work exposure on semen quality. Univariate and multivariate analysis was used to investigate the association between different risk factors and semen quality parameters.
