Integrating fluorine into heterocyclic structures cyclization reactions under metal-free conditions is attractive for organic synthesis. Herein, we describe solvent dependent fluorinative cyclizations of -hydroxyarylenaminones, which were promoted by HO and NFSI under metal-free conditions, to furnish 2,3-substituted chromanones. Di- and monofluorinated 2-hydroxyl chromanones could be achieved selectively in a THF-HO or EtOH-HO system at ambient temperature under an air atmosphere.

Motions sickness (MS) occurs when the brain receives conflicting sensory signals from vestibular, visual and proprioceptive systems about a person's ongoing position and/or motion in relation to space. MS is typified by symptoms such as nausea and emesis and implicates complex physiological aspects of sensations and sensorimotor reflexes. Use of animal models has been integral to unraveling the physiological causality of MS.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the role of the nuclear receptor RARγ in thyroid carcinoma (TC), discovering that RARγ is significantly overexpressed in TC tissues compared to normal tissues.
  • Researchers found that RARγ expression correlates with key cell behaviors like proliferation, migration, and invasion, indicating its role in tumor development.
  • The mechanism revealed that depleting RARγ reduces the activity of JAK1 and STAT3 proteins, affecting the expression of CD24, which helps TC cells evade macrophage attack, suggesting RARγ as a potential therapeutic target.
