Honeybees are vital pollinators with functional differentiation as a key survival strategy. The Chinese honeybee () exhibits exceptional nectar foraging in complex terrains, yet how alternative splicing (AS) and polyadenylation (APA) regulate its labor division remains unclear. Here, we applied PacBio full-length transcriptome sequencing to annotate worker bee transcriptomes across three developmental stages (3d, 10d, 21d), calibrating the third-generation sequencing data with second-generation sequencing to enhance transcriptome annotation accuracy.

Previous studies have mainly focused on traditional OPFRs (tOPFRs) without sufficient attentions to emerging OPFRs (eOPFRs), such as isopropylated or tert-butylated triaryl phosphate ester isomers (ITPs or TBPPs). This study aims to further explore the transport of both OPFRs through the skin, specifically the stratum corneum (SC).

To investigate factors influencing vaccine recommendations by healthcare workers (HCWs) in Zhejiang Province, China. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 569 HCWs to assess their beliefs and attitudes toward vaccines, vaccine recommendations and barriers to recommending vaccinations. Logistic regression was utilized to analyze influencing factors.

Enhancing anti-tumor immunity to eliminate residual tumor cells may reduce TNBC relapse. Our previous research indicated low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) can activate the anti‑tumor immunity.

It features a time-gated CMOS single-photon avalanche diode detector array with a large fill-factor, integrated with a metasurface-based plasmonic color filter array for three-dimensional color imaging. A sliding detector gate enables millimeter-scale depth resolution using as few as two binary planes per step, and high-fidelity color reconstruction is demonstrated from as few as two photons per pixel.

Temperature is a key meteorological factor that affects tropospheric ozone (O), with both humid-heat (sauna days) and dry-heat (roast days) conditions leading to O exceedances. However, the mechanisms influencing O formation and degradation under these two weather conditions remain unclear. Therefore, experiments were conducted in Beijing from 2019 to 2021 to observe O, its precursors, and related meteorological elements.

We find that the prototypic human neutrophil α-defensin HNP1, present in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluids from Acinetobacter baumannii-infected patients, promotes Acinetobacter baumannii biofilm formation through interactions with the bacterial outer membrane protein OmpA. As a result of HNP1-enhanced biofilm formation, Acinetobacter baumannii becomes more tolerant to antibiotics and more readily colonizes host cells and tissues.

Qualitative and quantitative investigations were carried out by analyzing the dilatation curves, color metallograph, and hardness data of deformed specimens. The results indicate that deformation can promote the formation of non-martensite.

During high-temperature periods in summer, formaldehyde (HCHO) levels increase due to secondary production. However, recent studies have also shown a rise in the HCHO concentration in winter, but the underlying cause remains unclear. Here, HCHO observations in urban Beijing were conducted, the impact of meteorological differences between warm and cold seasons to HCHO concentrations was investigated.

Human milk (HM) is regarded as the gold standard for infant nutrition. The metabolite profiles of mature human milk (MHM) have been reported to be affected by maternal physiological conditions, lactation stage, and maternal diets. We collected MHM (3-6 months postpartum) from 32 healthy mothers with different parities and delivery modes.

Background: Williams Syndrome (WS) is a neurodevelopmental disorder caused by microdeletion on chromosome 7. Hearing loss (HL) is common in this population but is rarely taken seriously. Previous studies had small sample sizes and mixed conclusions, and few studies have investigated HL in children with WS.

Williams Syndrome (WS) is a rare neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by dissonance in cognition and language. The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of early language development in WS children. Seventeen children, aged 2-5 years, diagnosed with WS in the outpatient department of child healthcare in our hospital from December 2020 to June 2023, were included in this study.

In this work, we designed and synthesized four paramagnetic molecules, PDTN-NN, PDTN-IN, PO-NN, and PO-IN, by introducing nitronyl nitroxide (NN) and iminonitroxide (IN) radicals into phenothiazine and phenoxazine frameworks. Remarkably, we successfully generated the corresponding radical-substituted radical cations (diradical cations) and controlled their spin density distributions (SDDs) through redox stimuli.

Methods: From May to June 2023, 600 elderly aged 65 and above were selected in Daxing District of Beijing using multi-stage cluster random sampling. After informed consent, basic information, physical status, dietary status, and nutritional and biochemical indicators were obtained.
Background: Pediatric sepsis is a life-threatening condition, with extremely high incidence and mortality among critically ill children worldwide. Patients with septic shock are susceptible to intestinal complications due to altered blood flow distribution, and these complications often correlate directly with a poor prognosis. Early detection of low perfusion and appropriate resuscitation are critical components in the management of patients experiencing shock.

Background: Immunization is a cost-effective way to prevent infectious diseases in children, but parental hesitancy leads to low vaccination rates, leaving children at risk. Caregivers of children with special health care needs are more hesitant about vaccines than those of healthy children.
Objective: The aim of the study is to investigate the changes in caregivers' vaccination hesitation of children with special health care needs before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic in China and to identify associated factors for caregivers' attitudes toward National Immunization Program (NIP) and non-NIP vaccines.
Background: Research into the "gut-lung" axis links gut microbiota to pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH). However, the mechanisms by which gut microbiota influence PAH remain unclear. We aimed to investigate the causal relationship between the gut microbiota and PAH using Mendelian randomization analysis, identify key microbiota and metabolites, and explore the regulatory role of associated genes in PAH pathogenesis.

In recent years, studies have revealed that vitamin D, a steroid hormone essential for calcium and phosphorus metabolism, also plays a role in sleep. Adequate levels of vitamin D have been linked to improved sleep quality in children and effective prevention of sleep problems. This report is a review and summary of research on the significance of sleep, the stages of children's sleep, and the impact of vitamin D levels on sleep problems.
