The association between serum zinc levels and diabetic kidney disease (DKD) has been a focus of considerable scientific interest. Lower serum zinc has been observed to be involved in the progression of DKD, and zinc supplementation can improve the kidney damage of DKD. However, the causal link and the underlying mechanisms driving this association remain poorly understood.

Rationale: Immunotactoid glomerulopathy (ITG) is a rare glomerular disease characterized by protein deposition in hollow microtubules on electron microscopy. Patients may present with proteinuria, hematuria, hypertension, and renal insufficiency, and some patients even progress to end-stage renal disease (ESRD). In patients with ESRD, ITG recurs in more than 50% of patients after kidney transplantation; however, there is no clear treatment plan for these patients owing to the limited number of reported cases.

Background: Intraoperative blood loss (IBL) is the major concern in hepatectomy, which was closely relating to the central venous pressure (CVP). The controlled low central venous pressure (CLCVP) technique is moderately required for minimizing hemorrhage during hepatectomy nowadays. Nevertheless, an excessive reduction in CVP might give rise to the jeopardy of inadequate perfusion of vital organs.

In this work, we propose a robust self-learning control scheme based on action-dependent heuristic dynamic programming (ADHDP) to tackle the 3D trajectory tracking control problem of underactuated uncrewed underwater vehicles (UUVs) with uncertain dynamics and time-varying ocean disturbances. Initially, the radial basis function neural network is introduced to convert the compound uncertain element, comprising uncertain dynamics and time-varying ocean disturbances, into a linear parametric form with just one unknown parameter. Then, to improve the tracking performance of the UUVs trajectory tracking closed-loop control system, an actor-critic neural network structure based on ADHDP technology is introduced to adaptively adjust the weights of the action-critic network, optimizing the performance index function.

and , members of the Physalis genus, are valued for their delicious and medicinal fruits as well as their different ripened fruit colors-golden for and scarlet for . This study aimed to elucidate the pigment composition and genetic mechanisms during fruit maturation in these species. Fruit samples were collected at four development stages, analyzed using spectrophotometry and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and complemented with transcriptome sequencing to assess gene expression related to pigment biosynthesis.

Introduction: Accumulating evidence has supported that gut microbiota and metabolite profiles play indispensable roles in the pathogenesis of colorectal cancer (CRC), which ranks as the third most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. However, alterations in tumoral or circulating microbiomes in CRC remain incompletely understood. It has been well-documented that tissue or serum microbiomes with low microbial biomass could be screened by use of 2bRAD sequencing for microbiome (2bRAD-M) at the species resolution.

A regeneratively mode-locked optoelectronic oscillator is proposed to realize multi-mode phase locking in optoelectronic oscillators by coupling a modulating signal generation loop. To verify the feasibility of the scheme, a numerical simulation model is established. In addition, a proof-of-concept experiment is demonstrated in a single-loop optoelectronic oscillator with a 2.

This paper presents an online recorded data-based composite neural finite-time control scheme for underactuated marine surface vessels (MSVs) subject to uncertain dynamics and time-varying external disturbances. The underactuation problem of the MSVs was solved by introducing the line-of-sight (LOS) method. The uncertain dynamics of MSVs are approximated by the composite neural networks (NNs).

Colorectal cancer (CRC), a common malignant tumor, is one of the main causes of death in cancer patients in the world. Therefore, it is critical to understand the molecular mechanism of CRC and identify its diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers. The purpose of this study is to reveal the genes involved in the development of CRC and to predict drug candidates that may help treat CRC through bioinformatics analyses.

In the past few decades, natural products have become an increasingly important source of potential anti-cancer agents. The green walnut husk(GWH) extracts have been reported to inhibit multiple tumor cells and might be a promising chemopreventive agent in human neoplasia. However, it is not clear whether GWH extracts inhibit gastric cancer.

In recent years, an increasing number of studies have reported that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) play crucial roles in breast cancer (BC) progression and metastasis. Another study group of our research center reported that lncRNA HCG18 was one of the 30 upregulated lncRNAs in BC tissues compared with normal tissues in The Cancer Genome Atlas database. However, the exact biological roles of HCG18 in BC remain unclear.

  • The potato, particularly the cultivar Shepody, is a significant food crop globally, recognized for its smooth white skin and cooking qualities.
  • Researchers determined the complete chloroplast genome of L. cv. Shepody through next-generation sequencing, revealing it is 155,296 bp long with a specific structure divided into large and small single-copy regions and inverted repeat regions.
  • The genome consists of 132 genes, including protein-coding, tRNA, and rRNA genes, and shows a close evolutionary relationship to another potato cultivar, Desiree, based on phylogenetic analysis.

Diastereoselective synthesis of the -decalin-based α-hydroxyl butanone spirocarbocycles bearing all-carbon quaternary stereogenic centers has been achieved via Norrish-Yang photocyclization of -decalin-substituted-2,3-butanediones using daylight. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations suggest that this diastereoselective reaction is affected by both substrate conformation and intramolecular hydrogen bonds. The developed chemistry could be applied to synthesizing the derivatives of the -decalin-based biologically important natural products.

A novel method for the concise synthesis of cyclohepta[b]indoles in high yields was developed. The method involves a visible-light-induced, photocatalyzed [2+2]-cycloaddition/ retro-Mannich-type reaction of enaminones. Experimental and computational studies suggested that the reaction is a photoredox process initiated by single-electron oxidation of an enaminone moiety, which undergoes subsequent cyclobutane formation and rapidly fragmentation in a radical-cation state to form cyclohepta[b]indoles.
